Mildred Costello, 89 of Port Carbon passed away Tuesday at the Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson Street, Pottsville, Pa.

Born in Conception Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada on October 21, 1922, she was the 10th of eleven daughters of Edward P and Mary T. Costello Kenny.

Mildred was a retired employee of the Bell Telephone Company.

She was a member of St. John The Baptist Church, Pottsville, since 2008.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael F. Costello, to whom she was married almost 50 years.

Mildred was also predeceased by her 10 sisters, Kathryn Murphy, Lillian Nickels, Viola Scully, Josephine Eberwine, Margaret G. Kenny, Genevieve Kenny, Mary Dalton, Margaret M. Kenny, Barbara Schmidt and Dorothy Kenny, her nephew Thomas Murphy and her niece Patricia Tangradi.

Survivors include her nieces, Barbara A. Fox, with whom she resided, Margaret (Joseph) Puglia, Gulf View Fl., Barbara Tramo ( Robert), Doylestown, Pa., Mary Welch, Collingdale, Pa., and Elizabeth Koropchak, St. Clair, Pa., and nephews John Nickels, Jr. ( Kathleen) Chalfont, Pa., John Schmidt, Jr. (Faye) Lansdowne, Pa., and Edward Schmidt, Upper Darby. Also many great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 11:30 am until her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd., Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
