Susan M. Vandegrift, of Doylestown, PA died on Monday, September 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 70.

She was the beloved wife of 50 years to Clifford J. Vandegrift.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma Burr Bell.

Susan grew up in Bucks County, graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1962, and worked at the Johnsville Naval Base before marrying and having children. She was a fulltime mother and bookkeeper taking care of her children in addition to working with her husband, in his business; J.B. Midway Construction.

Always on the go, Susan enjoyed being outside in nature, working in her gardens and enjoying her home in Solebury that her husband built in 2002. She loved to travel to warm places where she could be near the water. Her love and support for her family will always be remembered.

In addition to her husband she is also survived by her children Kimberly and Gary Heary of Sewell, NJ, Dennis and Maxine Vandegrift of Furlong, and Christy Vandegrift of Chalfont, her brother Dennis and Karen Bell of Langhorne, and her sister Jackie and Jim Fox of Feasterville. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 9:30 am until her Funeral Service, 11:30 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be held privately.
