Regina Elizabeth McGann-Jones passed peacefully as her granddaughter Lindsey Pilla played her favorite music for her on February 23, 2012, at Pickering Manor Home in Newtown Borough. She was 86.
Regina was the beloved wife of the late Norman Penniman and the late Eugene Jones.
Born in Trenton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Regina Leadom-McGann and was the sister of the late Thomas McGann, Leo McGann, Lawrence McGann, Eileen McGann-Kandrac, sister-in-law of the late Kathryn Sullivan-McGann and brother-in-law of the late John Kandrac.
Regina lived the majority of her life in the City of Trenton, she graduated from Trenton Central High School. After graduation Regina began a 30 plus year career with the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Environmental Protection. For the past five years Regina was a resident at Pickering Manor Home in Newtown Borough. She enjoyed very much her time at Pickering, particularly her many friends, the staff and residents; she spoke often of Krystina Bell of the Pickering Staff who was extremely kind to her. Regina also enjoyed the many activities at Pickering. She was well known for her constant work on jigsaw puzzles and her awards from the Grange Fair.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Frances Regina Pilla and her husband M. Barry, Jr. of Newtown Township. She is also survived by her granddaughter Lindsey M. Pilla of Newtown Township, her brother John McGann of Ewing, NJ, her sisters-in-law Maria McGann of Pennington, NJ and Betty Kennedy of Nockamixon, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. At the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Pickering Manor Home, 226 North Lincoln Avenue, Newtown, PA 18940.
