James T. Nicol of Newtown died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at his residence after a year-long attempt to overcome pancreatic cancer. He was 67 years old.
James was the beloved husband of Lesley A. Brownstein Nicol for 43 years.
Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Edith E. Peacock Nicol.
James proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Reedman Auto World for over 42 years and served car buyers as a department Manager. James’ children were the center of his being, and he proudly coached all of his sons when they played baseball. During his tenure as coach, James also served as President of the Cheltenham Athletic Association for multiple terms. He was also a dedicated Phillies and Eagles fan. James will be sorely missed by everyone who has had the opportunity to call him husband, dad, Opa, and friend.
In addition to his loving wife Lesley, James is survived by his 3 sons; Jeffrey and his wife Disa, Joshua, and Zachary Nicol. He is also Opa to Annika and Casey.
Relatives and friends are invited to offer condolences on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 8:30am until his Funeral Service 10:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd. ) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
