Stephen J. McEntee Sr., of Doylestown, PA died on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Abington Hospice, Warminster. He was 69.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lois Herr McEntee.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Carrie Conway McEntee of Lutherville MD, and the late Stewart J. McEntee.
Steve grew up in Baltimore and was a 1960 graduate of Calvert Hall and a 1969 graduate of The University of Baltimore School of Business. Steve served in the Army National Guard Sergeant First Class from 1962 to 1969.
A long time resident of Doylestown, PA he was a member of Doylestown Country Club for 34 years. Steve was passionate about family, friends, food, travel, automobiles and especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family from the Baltimore area where he was born and raised.
He was an enthusiastic gourmet cook and the ultimate authority on the finest restaurants in Philadelphia and New York. Steve was a member of the Lancaster Ski club where he met many friends after retirement.
Recognized by many in his profession as a corrugated packaging industry icon, Steve developed and managed many multinational accounts during his professional sales management career. These accounts included Colgate, Lever Brothers, Nabisco, OceanSpray and many more. Steve and his wife Lois were frequent European leisure travelers. They traveled to England, France, Scotland, Ireland and Italy which was their favorite and most regularly visited.
Steve was also an automotive enthusiast who restored and enjoyed BMW’s during his retirement years.
In addition to his mother, Carrie Conway McEntee, he is survived by his two sons Stephen J. McEntee and his wife Jennifer of Sparta, NJ and Leland P. McEntee and his wife Patricia of Doylestown, his two brothers Stewart and Kathleen McEntee of Richmond, and Bruce and Michelle McEntee of Baltimore. He is also survived by his four loving grandchildren Olivia, Lillian, Jane and Peter and his dear companion Patricia Moritz of Horsham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday, March 25th, from 5:00 — 7:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (Route 202 & Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, and on Monday, March 26th, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901, from 9:30 am until his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. His interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Abington Hospice at Warminster, Abington Health Center — Warminster Campus, 225 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA 18974.
