Anthony A. “Tony” Monteiro, of Newtown, died peacefully on Monday March 26, 2012 at Manor Care in Yardley. He was 70.

He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Barbara J. Bianco Monteiro. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Bernard and Marie Ratts Monteiro.

Tony was a resident of Bucks County for the past 40 years, having formerly lived in Trevose and Holland before moving to Newtown in 2010. He was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1959 and a communicant of the Church of St. Andrew. Tony was the owner of A.A. Monteiro Associates, a manufacturers’ representative of electronics and circuit board systems for the past 40 years.

An avid tennis player and softball player, Tony enjoyed playing for the Collex-sponsored team in the Northampton Athletic Association. He will be sadly missed for his quick wit and gentle smile by his caring family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughter and son, Alisa and Christopher Monteiro, both of Newtown; his 3 dear grandchildren, Jessica, Justin and Rocco; 6 nephews and 4 nieces.

Tony’s family will receive condolences on Friday March 30, from 8:30am until 10:15am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, and to his Funeral Mass 11:00am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
