Francis J. Williams, of Chalfont, PA died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Clare Bridge of Dublin, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Joan M. Bauer Williams.
Born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary McAdara Williams.
Francis was a 1952 graduate of the Northeast Catholic High School for Boys. He actively served with the US Navy in Bainbridge, Maryland from 1952 until 1954 and then served in the US Naval Reserve until 1960 when he received an honorable discharge.
He was married on June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Warrington, PA. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Chalfont. Francis worked in electronic engineering, and was the founder and president of Digital Devices Inc. from 1974 until his retirement in 2000.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Francis J. Williams Jr. and his wife Teresa of Chalfont, Joan M. Williams of Perkasie, Debra A. Williams of Telford, Theresa Wagner and her husband Richard of Doylestown, Daniel R. Williams and his wife Ziem-Nop of Hilltown, Suzanne Williams and Linda Benson of Towson, MD, and Jennifer Wenhold and her husband Chad of Perkasie, his brother Robert Williams and his wife Janice of Warminster, and his 3 sisters, Jean Pilchok of Feasterville, PA, Mary Klug of Wilkes Barre, PA, and Theresa Thairsworth of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Leon Williams and his two sisters; Ruth Alcon and Loretta Prinzo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 9:00 am until his Funeral Mass 11:00 am at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914.
His interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
