Joan L. Ginunas of Doylestown died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Lakeview Assisted Living, Doylestown. She was 78.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Anthony R. “Richard” Ginunas.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen Tarnacki.
Joan was a former resident of Horsham and Chalfont before moving to Doylestown in 2009. She was a volunteer for many years with St. Christopher’s Hospital Auxiliary and with the local Meals on Wheels Program. Joan also had worked with the Thrift Shop in New Britain which provided assistance to “A Women’s Place” organization of Bucks County. Joan will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Joan is survived by her children, Richard A. Ginunas and his wife Claire of Perkasie, Vern Ginunas and his wife Virginia of Fullerton, CA and Arlene Mohan of Palm Coast, FL. In addition, Joan is survived by her brother Richard Tarnacki of Lyndhurst, NJ her sister, Frances Dollbaum of Wayne, NJ, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue, (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30am at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914.
Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
If so desired, contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to a charity of a donor’s choice.
