Brett C. Miller, of Lansdale, PA died on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, after a long and courageous battle with Aplastic Anemia. He was 25.
Born in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of Ronald and Robin Mazuk Miller of Lansdale.
Brett attended public school, graduating from North Penn High School in 2005. During his grade school years, Brett discovered his love for music—specifically for the tuba. As a member of the North Penn Marching Knights, Wind Ensemble, District, Region, All-State, and All-Eastern ensembles, he shared his gift of music with all who would listen. Brett continued his studies at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, majoring in Tuba Performance and Music Education. Despite a break in his studies to focus on his health, Brett was able to complete his Tuba Performance degree at Eastman in 2011.
Aside from his love for music, Brett was also an avid Phillies fan and liked to play baseball and disc golf. He loved the ocean, and especially enjoyed fishing and boogie-boarding. He was a member of Doylestown Mennonite Church.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his brother Chadd E. Miller of Lansdale, his girlfriend Ashley Rittenhouse of Lansdale, his maternal grandparents Robert F. and Patricia Hirsch Mazuk of Ocean Pines, MD, his paternal grandmother Mildred Blauch Miller of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 20, 2012 and on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the Doylestown Mennonite Church, 590 North Broad Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. His interment will be held privately.
