Herbert W. Meyers of Holland died peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of Joan B. Lezynski Meyers and the son of the late Herbert J. and Leona Hanlon Meyers and grandfather of the late Zachary Meyers.

Herb was a resident of Holland for the past 44 years. He was a graduate of LaSalle College High School class of 1949 and received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from LaSalle University in 1953. During his college years, Herb rowed for LaSalle University and was a 3 time super eight winner in 1951, 1952 and 1953 Dad Vail Regatta held in Philadelphia. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Herb’s professional career spanned 35 years working for RCA and GE at their Moorestown office as an accounting supervisor. He enjoyed golf, skiing, Big 5 Basketball, Flyers, Phillies and Eagles. He was a former little league coach. Herb was a faithful communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Parish and an usher for many years. He was also a member of the R.V. Hennessy Council Knights of Columbus, # 6145 and a member of the Fourth Degree.

In addition to his beloved wife Herb is survived by his loving children; Stephen J. Meyers (Diane), Glen W. Meyers (Lisa), Kevin Meyers (Sharon), Barbara J. Garofalo (Michael), Sharon S. Girmscheid (Joseph), his sister Jean Marie McGrath and his 11 dear grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd.(at Holland Rd.) Richboro and to his Funeral Mass 11:15am St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland.

Interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Bede the Venerable Capital Campaign in Herb’s memory at the above address.
