Dennis J. McCloskey of Holland, PA died peacefully in his home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 after a courageous battle with ALS (aka Lou Gehrigs Disease).
He was born in Philadelphia in 1949, son of the late John McCloskey and Bertha Luke McCloskey.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corp and was a Vietnam veteran. He graduated from Temple University and began a very successful career in the printing industry.
He had a zest for life that brought smiles to all who knew him. Den was an avid cyclist, gardener, sports and music enthusiast. He loved travelling the world with his wife and best friend, Joan. He found no greater joy in life than spending time with his family and friends. Dennis was a man of great honor and served as a role model for many. He was a kind, compassionate and generous man to all who crossed his path in life.
Dennis is lovingly survived by his wife, Joan, sister, Kathleen (SSJ), daughters, Shannon McCarty, Colleen McCloskey and Kristen Zeek (Scott) and eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Tuesday evening, May 8, 2012 from 7:00-9:00pm and on Wednesday May 9, 2012 from 9:00 — 10:30AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Veterans Administration, 3900 Woodland Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19104.
