William (Bill) B. Evans, 67, of Newtown, PA, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on September 9, 2014. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a resident of Newtown for 28 years.
Bill was the beloved husband of Janet Evans (nee Greto) for 41 years. He was the son of the late Robert and Margaret Kelleher Evans.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving with NATO forces in Turkey and Vietnam.
Bill spent over 40 years in the freight forwarding and customs brokerage industry, with the last 34 years as Senior Vice President with Barthco International Inc. in Philadelphia. He spent much of his career arranging the transportation of high value shipments like the entire collection of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. In the years following the September 11 attacks, Bill participated in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism organization working to safeguard the world’s trade industry from terrorists. In 2009, he opened his own firm, Evans Global Trade Consulting.
In addition to his loving wife, Bill is survived by his son Britt and daughter Christina. He is also survived by his brother, Robert and Virginia Evans; brothers-in-law Ronald and Marianne Greto, Thomas Greto and Anne Casey; and nephew Michael and Megan Greto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, September 15 at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA where a visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be private at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
