October 9th, 2010
James A. Flint, III, of Quakertown, formerly of Churchville, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 9th as a result of pancreatic cancer at the age of 73.
Born in Williamstown, NJ, he was the son of the late Mary Paul and James A. Flint, Jr.
Jim is the beloved husband of 34 years to Carol (James) Flint.
A graduate of Frankford High School, he attended Spring Garden Institute, Drexel University and Trenton State College. In his early years he was employed by the United States Rubber Co. where a patent was issued to Jim as co-inventor of “Method of Molding Positive Drive/Timing Belts”. Jim was later employed by Philco Division, Boonshaft & Fuchs, Inc., Weston Instruments, and Control Concepts, Inc. Jim was a Professional Engineer, holding a license in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, specializing in mechanical engineering. Later employed by the Department of Defense for over 25 years, he worked for the Army at Fort Dix, the Air Force at Maguire AFB, the Navy at Trenton and the Air Force at Willow Grove.
After retiring in 2003 he thoroughly enjoyed tinkering in his garage with his various motors, engines and tractors and held a special love of old planes and trains. An avid outdoorsman in his youth, he loved hunting, fishing and riding his Indian motorcycle. He was a longtime member of the Souderton-Harleysville Game and Fish Assoc. and shot competitively for several years, and was one of the top qualifiers for the State of Pennsylvania high power rifle shooting competition. Recently, Jim became an active member of the Perkiomen Sportsman Association. With a wealth of knowledge, Jim was always ready to help anyone in need. He will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his sons, Leslie Flint and wife, Karen of New Hope; Todd Warner of Langhorne; Kevin Warner and wife, Alyson of Alexandria, VA,; his daughters, Lynn Warner of Quakertown, Ann Elizabeth DeFrangesco of Trappe; dear granddaughter, Alexandra of Quakertown; dear sister and caregiver, Joyce Flint, R.N. of Florida and brother, John Flint of New Jersey.
Friends may call on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro (at Holland Rd) Richboro from 7pm to 8pm at which time we will celebrate Jim’s life with Words of Remembrance. A private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s name to the Grandview Hospital HOSPICE, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.

Joseph A. Fluehr Jr. of Philadelphia and formerly of Southampton died peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2009, at Lafayette Redeemer Health Care. He was 90. He was the beloved husband of 14 years to June K. Mink Fluehr. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph A. Fluehr Sr. and Alys Munch Fluehr and husband of the late Elizabeth Meehan Fluehr. Joe was a 1937 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and attended St. Joseph’s University. In 1949 he founded J. A. Fluehr Furniture Co., in the Logan section of Philadelphia; later he started Fluehr and Allen Interior Design and Decoration, which is still in operation today. Joe was a 14-year resident of Southampton, a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, and a former member of the Lions Club and the Serra Club. He shared many travel adventures at home and abroad with his family. He was an avid boater and fisherman who enjoyed his lucky streaks when fishing -- and when playing games of chance. He will be sadly missed by his loving family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Joseph A. Fluehr III and his wife Christine M., of Richboro; James M. Fluehr Sr. and his wife Helen, of Southampton; Edythe Mary Merritt and her husband Robert J., of Vero Beach, Fla.; Eva Andrea Albert and her husband Dr. John G., of Manlius, NY; Thomas A. Fluehr Sr. and his wife Susan, of Alamo, California; Mary F. McQuiggan and her husband John J., of Abington; Lawrence L. Fluehr of Warminster; Margaret Mary Bauer and her husband Mark P., of Warrington, and his brother, Charles F. Fluehr and his wife Ann of Cheltenham. Also surviving are his step children, Ferne A. Abramson and her husband Gilbert, Esq., of Upper Gwynedd, and Gary W. Mink and his wife Linda, of Harvey Cedars, NJ, 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.. Rite of Committal will be at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. Daniel J. Keating, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of Daniel J. Keating Company, died at Bryn Mawr Hospital on August 15, 2009 at the age of 90.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Overbrook, Mr. Keating was the son of the late Daniel J. Keating, Sr. and Madeline O’Donnell Keating. He was the beloved husband of Eva Meehan Keating for 62 years.
After graduating from St. Leonard’s Academy elementary school, Mr. Keating attended St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School, where in 1937 he was recognized as the outstanding basketball player of the Catholic League. He was also a member of the All Catholic League Champion Team. Mr. Keating earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University in 1941. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in the Seabees in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.
In 1951, Mr. Keating became president of the Daniel J. Keating Company, which was founded in 1911 by his father as a mechanical contracting firm. Under Mr. Keating’s leadership, the Daniel J. Keating Company and Keating Building Corporation became two of the largest general construction firms in the nation. For the past 25 years, Mr. Keating has worked alongside his son Pierce Keating, Chairman of the Daniel J. Keating Company. Numerous well-known Philadelphia buildings were constructed by Daniel J. Keating Company, including the expansion of the Philadelphia Convention Center (presently a joint venture project with his son Daniel J. Keating, III), the Philadelphia International Airport, the National Constitution Center, and the renovations to Independence Hall and City Hall. Most recent projects in Philadelphia include the renovation of SEPTA’s Suburban Station Transit Center, Microsoft School of the Future, and the renovation of Memorial Hall for the Please Touch Museum. The company has completed more than 1,000 projects across the United States and abroad.
Mr. Keating was a director of General Building Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania and a member of the Board of Directors of First Pennsylvania Bank.
A parishioner of St. John Vianney Parish in Gladwyne, Mr. Keating was a devoted supporter of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He joined the Board of Trustees of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1977, and his expertise and resources in the construction business proved invaluable when he served as Chairman of the Buildings & Grounds Committee and the Finance Committee. In 1975, he led the Catholic Charities Campaign as General Chairman, and he was Chairman of the Special Gifts program in 1982. He also served on the Steering Committee of BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools).
Mr. Keating was responsible for the construction of the 35 foot, elevated altar used at the 41st International Eucharistic Congress Papal Mass held at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in 1976, where more than 500 priests concelebrated the Mass. Mr. Keating converted one of his company’s construction lifts into an elevator to provide access to the massive altar.
Mr. Keating was the recipient of the 1987 American Catholic Historical Society’s prestigious Barry Award, in recognition of his contributions to the church, community, and profession. He was awarded the Papal Honor of the Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great by Pope Paul VI. He was a Steward of St. John Neumann, and was honored with the Borromeo Medal. He was a life-long member of the Men of Malvern.
Mr. Keating also received the Greater Philadelphia Area Leadership Award in 1993.
An avid golfer, he was a long-time member of the Philadelphia Country Club, and enjoyed spending time with his family at their summer residence in Longport, NJ. He was also a member of the Merion Cricket Club and a former member of the Union League.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Keating is survived by his devoted children, Daniel J. Keating III (Sarah), Eva McKendrick (Stephen), Nina Fisher (Anthony), and Pierce J. Keating (Mary Kathleen). He is also survived by his only sister Margaret Mary Sherry and his 24 cherished grandchildren, Dan (Kristin), Michael, Patrick, Caroline, Connor, Hannah, Kiera, Alissa, Kaitlin, Maura, Stephanie, Eva, Tony, Zoe, Kristen, Kyle, Pierce, Chloe, Kimberly, Carly, Katrina, James, Kolbe and Luke.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation on August 20, 2009, beginning at 8:30 AM, followed by a concelebrated Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1229 W. Lancaster Avenue, Villanova, PA (on the University campus). Interment will be private.

Julius Kozari of Langhorne, PA died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 91.
He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Ida Czuczka Kozari.
Born in Hungary, he was the son of the late Josef and Anna Pozwai Kozari and brother of the late Imre Kozari..
Mr. Kozari emigrated from Hungary in January 1957 and eventually resided in Langhorne in 1963. He enjoyed gardening, horticulture and nature, especially bird watching and animals but most especially making homemade wine for over 50 years with his family. Julius will be remembered as a devoted family man and will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his dearest children, Eva M. Kozari of Chalfont, PA and John J. Kozari and his wife, Dawn, of Feasterville, PA. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Terez Szabo and Anna Gemesi and his 6 grand children.

Lloyd E. Franklin Jr., of Doylestown, PA died on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Neshaminy Manor. He was 77.
He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Theresa Kindlan Franklin.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late Lloyd E. Franklin Sr. and Anne C. Sullivan Franklin and brother of the late Julianne Griffin and John and Phillip Franklin.
Lloyd grew up in East Falls and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1949. He then went on to LaSalle University before joining the US Air Force and serving during the Korean War. After returning home he met and fell in love with his beloved Theresa, who he married in 1957 at St. David’s Church, Willow Grove. They remained in Willow Grove for years while Lloyd worked for the F.M.C. Corporation in Colmar, PA. When he retired in 1989, after 20 years of service he was the company’s regional credit manger. Then in 1994 they moved to Doylestown where they have enjoyed being parishioners of St. Jude Church.
Lloyd loved to be with his family. Moreover, he most especially enjoyed the time when he was teaching them how to fish. Fishing was an obsession for Lloyd, and he shared his enthusiasm with all of his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his loving ways and affection for his wife and children.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Lloyd Franklin and his wife Ellen of Lansdale, Owen Franklin and his wife Patricia of Pottsgrove, PA, Kathryn Armstrong and her husband Jeff of Woodinville, WA, Jennifer Cameron and her husband Wayne of Lansdale, PA, his sister Mary Alice Franklin of West Chester. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Arthur A. Mangino, 71, of Holland, PA died peacefully Saturday, February 3, 2001 at his home.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Mangino was a former resident of Cleveland before moving to Holland in 1972. He was a graduate of Cooper School of Art, Cleveland Advertising School, and Western Reserve University. Mr. Mangino was the founder of Holland Advertising Specialties, a member of the Advertising Specialty Institute and a member of Toastmaster’s. Mr. Mangino was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict as an officer in Army Intelligence. He was a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Son of the late Carmen and Suntine Trivisonno Mangino, he is survived by his wife of 39 years Agnes M. Laczko Mangino, his children Linda M. Tuszl of Richboro, Susan J. Mangino of Holland, Carol L. Fantacone of Southampton, and David A. Mangino of Churchville. Also survived by his brother Robert M. Mangino of Cleveland, Ohio and 4 grandchildren; Marisa, Mark, Johnny and Joey.
