John Goheen

September 10th, 2011

John T. Goheen of Chalfont died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Abington Hospital Hospice, Abington. He was 94.
John was the beloved husband of the late Marie A. Wisniewski Goheen and father of the late John T. Goheen, Jr.
Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Emma Feese Goheen.
John was a former long time resident of Philadelphia before moving to New Britain in 2004. He was a retired Supervisor with Boeing in Ridley Park, PA. John eventually went to work with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at St. Benedict’s Parish in the Maintenance Department until his retirement. He was a former communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church and a member of the Young at Heart Club before becoming a communicant at St. Jude Parish in Chalfont. John will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him.
John is survived by his two daughters, Beverly Goheen and her life partner Laura Grant of Paradise, CA and Maureen Simpkins and her husband Wallace of Chalfont. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Judy Goheen of Columbia, MD, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Della Heisner (Dyer)

September 10th, 2011

Della Heisner of Feasterville died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Sierra Oaks of Bensalem, Bensalem. She was 91.
Della was the beloved wife of the late Warner Heisner.
Born in Upper Merion Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Morton and Myrtle Keebler Dyer.
Della was a resident of Feasterville since 1950 having formerly residing in Trevose. She was a Account Controller with Sears and Roebuck Company in Philadelphia for over 25 years. Della enjoyed gardening, baking and quality times spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Della is survived by her son, Warner Heisner of Trevose and her sister Edith Atkins of Levittown and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Thursday, September 15 from 6-8pm and Friday September 16, from 9:00am until her Funeral Service 10:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia. John Beveridge

September 10th, 2011

John Patrick Beveridge, of New Hope, PA died on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at hospice. He was 47.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of James Beveridge of Chalfont and the late Cecelia McGowan Beveridge, of Chalfont, who died in May of this year, and brother of the late Jimmy Beveridge.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters Kathy and John Eyrich of Warrington, Fran and Stefni Beveridge of Hainesport, NJ, Marianne and Charles McFadden of Lansdale, Mike and Marlene Beveridge of Warrington, Peggy and Pat McDaid of Macungie, and Brian and Michelle Beveridge of Chalfont. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Church, Chalfont, PA on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a private burial at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA.

Steven J. Pyle

September 9th, 2011

Steven J. Pyle of Southampton died Friday, Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after a long illness. He was 64.

Born in Philadelphia, Steve was the son of Martha (Ferguson) Pyle and the late Joseph E. Pyle. He was a longtime resident of Feasterville before moving to Southampton in 2005. Steve is survived by his wife of 15 years, Deborah L. (Corscadden) Pyle, his children Michael, Melanie, and Joseph, and his sister and brother, Carol Salan and David Pyle.


Steve, a 1965 graduate of Neshaminy High School, was a star football player earning 1st Team All-Lower Bucks County honors and was selected by his teammates to be Mr. Redskin. He was inducted into Neshaminy’s Football “Hall of Fame” in 1988. Steve attended Texas Christian University. He was a proud Marine infantryman serving from 1966 — 1969 and he was a Vietnam veteran. Steve was a career union carpenter with Local #1462 in Philadelphia.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service with Military Honors, 2:30pm Friday Sept. 16, 2011at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 where assembly for procession for Graveside Services will form at 2:15pm at the Administration Office.

Dorothy L. (nee Mentzel) Gaeta, of Quakertown, PA, died on September 6, 2011.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late John C. Gaeta and devoted mother of Nancy L. Pinkerton (Michael) and the late Garrett J. Gaeta. She was the loving grandmother of Corinne Sierzant (Kevin) and Michael J. Pinkerton and the dear sister of Janet Tessier.

Curwen S. Shelmire

Curwen S. Shelmire, of Doylestown, died peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 94.

He was the beloved husband of 69 years to the late Verna Leedom Shelmire who died in October of 2010. Born in Huntingdon Valley, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Esther Cornell Shelmire; he was predeceased by his sister Grace Beuchler and brothers, James and Linford Shelmire.

Curwen was a resident of Heritage Towers in Doylestown since 1993. A farmer’s life was one of long hot days and short nights especially around harvest time. Curwen grew tomatoes and carrots for Campbell Soup, Co., on a farm in Ivyland that is now Spring Mill County Club, and in addition sold what he harvested on a Farm route that he maintained for many years. After the retirement of his father-in-law, Warner Leedom, Curwen and his wife Verna took over the poultry farm, which they operated for over 25 years. He continued his Farm route and added both the eggs and the chickens to the other fruits and vegetables that he sold.

He was a member of the Davisville Baptist Church; even though his free time was limited he loved his family and was devoted to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Curwen is survived by his devoted daughters and son-in-laws, Evelyn S. Vanderloo and her husband Robert of Delaware, Nancy S. Woodward and her husband William of Richboro, his 2 brothers, Clarence Shelmire of Pennsburg and Charles Shelmire of Horsham, 1 sister Elizabeth Bower of Richboro, 4 dear grandchildren: Linda, Terri, Robert and Scott and 5 great grandchildren: Michael, Steven, Bethany, Sydney, and Carter.

Relatives and residents of Heritage Towers, Doylestown are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, September 9, 2011, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro.

Dolores A. Russo (O'Boyle)

Dolores A. O’Boyle Russo of Alterra Wynwood in Richboro and formerly of Westfield, Lakehurst, and Whiting, NJ died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 83.

Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Russo.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alice McManus O’Boyle, and mother of the late Craig J. Russo.

Mrs. Russo was active in the church and her community. She loved bowling, bingo, trips to Atlantic City and many other activities and interests. She spent most of her time with family and friends and she cherished her children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love her.

Dolores is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Gary T. Russo and Joan of Churchville, MD, Doreen M. Burke and Kevin of Langhorne, PA and James A. Russo of Yorktown Heights, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Dolce, of Williamstown, NJ and her 6 grandchildren and their spouses; Joseph Russo and Kelly, Julie Ahlfeldt and Tyler, Colleen Russo, Erin Clifford and Nathaniel, Brian Burke and his fiancée Mandy Myers, and Timothy Burke.

Robert M. DiFlorio

September 4th, 2011

Robert M. DiFlorio, of Upper Holland, died on Sunday, September 4, 2011. He was 57.

He was the beloved husband of 21 years to Susan E. Cristinzio DiFlorio. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of Benjamin DiFlorio and the late Lillian Siderio DiFlorio.

Bob was a resident of Upper Holland for the past 12 years. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, class of 1972 and Temple University, class of 1976 with his degree in English. Bob also received his Master’s Degree in Education from Temple University.

Bob was an educator at heart and has taught English for over 25 years, having taught at 6 schools in the Philadelphia School District. He spent the past 10 years at Northeast High School, where he was also the Head Varsity Basketball Coach.

Bob loved coaching sports. He especially loved watching his sons when they were playing. He also gave his time and coaching ability to the Catholic League. He coached for various schools throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for over 30 years.

Bob was an avid reader and sun worshipper who looked forward to being on the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. When he wasn’t with his family or working you could find him at Greg Long’s Gym, keeping in shape. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by loving sons, Christian B., and Matthew Z. DiFlorio, and one brother Nicholas J. DiFlorio. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 5 nephews.

Relatives, friends and colleagues are invited to attend his Funeral Saturday 10:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will be private.

James T. Keenan

James T. Keenan of Warrington, PA, Fairview Lake in Tafton, PA, Pompano Beach, FL and formerly of Richboro, PA died peacefully on Saturday September 3rd, 2011, at Doylestown Hospital, surrounded by his family. For over 30 years he fought heart disease. He was 78.

He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Jeanette M. Bracken Keenan.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Bustleton Section of the City, he was the son of the late John A. and Helen T. Seitz Keenan.

James was a skilled carpenter, whose talents and business acumen allowed him to find success as president of Northampton Constructors, Buckingham Developers, and McGowan and Keenan Builders.

He was an avid tennis player, skier, and he passionately enjoyed times spent sailing his boat on the Chesapeake Bay. He loved sharing these hobbies with his family and friends. James will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love him. Mr. Keenan was a proud veteran of the Army who served his country during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife Jean, James is survived by his loving children and their spouses Janice K. McGinn and Edward, of North Wales, James T. Keenan Jr. and Joanne, of Jamison, Thomas P. Keenan and Lynne, of New Hope PA, Patrick J. Keenan and Nancy, of Coopersburg, PA, Eileen Foster and Steve, of Driggs, ID, and Jacqueline M. Keenan of East Norriton. He is also survived by his brother John A. Keenan Jr. and by his 14 loving grandchildren.

Barbara R. Pinciotti-Drager (Ball)

Barbara R. Pinciotti-Drager (nee Ball) of Feasterville, PA died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 74.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer "Elwood" Pinciotti and George J. Drager. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John J. and Clara R. Berke Ball.
Barbara was a resident of Feasterville for over 40 years. She was a graduate of Dobbins High School. She was a proficient office manager for over 43 years for Dr. Anthony Salem; she retired in 2002. Barbara was a member of Calvary Chapel Philadelphia.

Barbara is survived by her brother George J. Ball and his wife Lorraine, 1 niece and 1 nephew, 1 great niece and 3 great nephews. She will be missed by her family and Goddaughter Vanessa (Maui) Calero and dear friends Carl W. and Eunice Vandine.
