October 31st, 2011
James F. Dougherty Sr. of Warminster, PA died peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Abington Hospital, Abington, PA. He was 95.
He was the beloved husband of Ethel M. “Dollie” Kligerman Dougherty for 70 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James and Margaret Kramer Dougherty, grandfather of the late Heidi Dougherty and father-in-law of the late John Hemple.
Mr. Dougherty was a resident of Ann’s Choice in Warminster for the past 3 years and formerly lived in the Somerton section of Philadelphia. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys, Class of 1935. Mr. Dougherty was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was the recipient of two bronze stars and successfully flew 49 missions as a B-29 tail gunner. His professional career was diverse and spanned many years. He was employed by Honeywell Corp. for 25 years, was the proprietor of a restaurant and bar, and retired in 2001 after working 20 years at Holy Redeemer Hospital as supervisor in the laundry department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mother Katherine Drexel Council in Northeast Philadelphia, where he was a fourth degree knight. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and golfing.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, James F. Dougherty and his wife, Kathleen, Debbie Hemple, and Timothy J. Dougherty and his wife, Jeanne. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, November 5, 2011, from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954.
Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

James "Jim" Burtt of Richboro, PA died peacefully on October 31, 2011 at the age of 91.
He was the husband of 51 years to Larice AR Burtt.
Jim was born in Chester, PA and began his early years with a love of dancing, singing and playing the organ that continued until the day he died.
Prior to going to college at Bucknell University he enlisted and served three years in the South Pacific during WWII. He met his wife to be, Larice, at Bucknell but before getting married went on to Columbia University to study History. At Neshaminy H.S., Jim taught history for many years and was also the Dean for several years. He enjoyed woodworking and ham radio but more than these he love to sail and Jim enjoyed taking friends and family down to the Jersey Shore or to Penn's Landing for and afternoon on his boat the "Lari B".
In addition to his devoted wife, Jim is survived by his son Jami and his wife Cindy, and his daughter Kyleann. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Anna, Justin and Nadine.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service 11:00AM, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Road, Ivyland, PA 18974. Interment will be private.

John Charles Lukac, 58, of Newtown, PA died peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center Hospice in Trenton, New Jersey. He went home surrounded by loving family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Elizabeth Nammack Lukac, and his adored children, Christina E., 22, and Joseph G., 20, of Newtown, PA.
John was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Joseph J. and Elsie M. Mares. In addition to his beloved wife Elizabeth and children Christina and Joseph, John is also survived by his loving sister, Maria C. Lukac of Long Island, NY and his loving Godmother, Matilda Palamara of Denville, NJ. There are numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and many good friends from the fellowship that will miss John more than words can express. His life was and will continue to be an inspiration.
John’s passions included family, friends, music, which lead him to become an accomplished musician who enjoyed composing, playing piano and guitar, and the sun and surf of Bel Mar Beach.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at his memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116.

Dorothy M. Stiles of Holland, PA died suddenly on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Hospital, Meadowbrook. She was 78.
She was the beloved wife of Alfred L. Stiles for 56 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Blessing Esmond.
Mrs. Stiles was a resident of Holland since 1968. She graduated from St. Hubert High School for Girls in Philadelphia, Class of 1951. She loved all types of animals and enjoyed doing needlepoint in her leisure time. Her family came first and foremost in her life. She always enjoyed the special times spent with her sons and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her six sons, James G. Stiles and his wife, Ginny, of Southampton, Joseph E. Stiles and his wife, Karyn, of Jamison, William A. Stiles and his wife, Kathy, of Warminster, Paul F. Stiles of Holland, John R. Stiles of Holland, and Richard M. Stiles and his wife, Ruby, of Mantua, NJ. She is also survived by five loving grandchildren; Jonathan, Alexandra, Timothy, Richelle and Anna Stiles.

Martin J. Doyle “Marty”, of Southampton, formerly of Somerton, died on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Southampton Estates Health Care. He was 84.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Anne Connolly Doyle.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Martin J. and Ella C. Maley Doyle.
After graduating from North Catholic HS, Marty enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. Marty studied Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation he went on to work at the Naval Shipyard in South Philadelphia, the City of Philadelphia, and the IRS. Marty was deeply devoted to his family. He enjoyed everything from the annual family vacations to the Jersey shore to his grandchildren’s soccer games, to an impromptu cookout in the backyard. His kindness, his honesty and integrity are his greatest legacy to his family. Marty was well known for his quick wit. His keen sense of humor and wonderful talent for making us laugh will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife he is also survived by his children Patricia Zaneski and her husband Thomas of Chalfont, Eileen Doyle-Rosseljong and her husband David Rosseljong of Langhorne, Bethanne Adamsky and her husband Brian of Jamison, Martin Doyle and his wife Christine of Holland, and Michael Doyle of Huntingdon Valley. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Meghan and Caitlin Zaneski, Casey and Kevin Rosseljong, Michael and Kevin Adamsky, Nicholas, Emilie, Sean and Caroline Doyle.

Rhett D. Ragsdale, Jr., of Newtown, died peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2011, with his devoted family at his side at Chandler Hall in Newtown. He was 78.
He was the beloved husband of 50 years to late Mary E. Sheehan Ragsdale. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Rhett D. Sr. and Mildred Sentel Ragsdale and brother of the late Carol Musselman.
Rhett was a resident of Newtown for the past 15 years. He was a graduate of Mastbaum High School, class of 1951 and LaSalle University with his B S in Business Administration in 1957.
Rhett was a man of deep faith and many talents, but his love of family was to be admired. Rhett worked for Warner Concrete, Co. as operations manager from 1960 to 1972. In the latter part of 1972 he became the Division Manager and later the Vice President for Waste Resources. He was the first operations manager of their Grows Landfill in Bucks County. His entrepreneurial skills led him to develop Eagle Hauling, Company and Quaker Water Company, which he operated from 1983 till 2001. From 1994 until June of this year Rhett has worked as a Field Agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance.
His talents were wide raging, from being a tenor Sax player in his early years and doing a stint with the Polish American String band to serving as auditor of Newtown Township from 1995 to 2001 and Newtown Township , Judge of Elections District # 2 from 1997 to 2001.
Rhett, has been and always will be known for his deep faith, love of family, and community service. He has been a communicant of the Church of St. Andrew and a faithful member of the R. V. Hennessy Council # 6145 Knights of Columbus, where he served as Past Grand Knight. He was also active with the Regina Coeli Council, #4921.
He enjoyed many years and especially summers at his vacation home in Sea Isle City, NJ, with his family, fishing, playing horse shoes, and flying kites on the beach. In his later years he loved spending time with his grand children and great grandchildren attending their social and sporting events and just hanging with them as their Grand Pop. He will be remembered for his quick wit and smile.
Rhett is survived by his devoted children; William M. Ragsdale and his companion Jean Anderson of Bensalem, Michael J. Ragsdale and his wife Krista of Coopersburg PA, Daniel J. Ragsdale and his wife Cathleen of Allentown, Sharon Lee Ragsdale and her companion Hope Kushner of Mt. Laurel, NJ, his sister Dolores Ragsdale of Gilbertsville and his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Relative, friends and Brother Knights of Columbus are invited to attend his viewing Saturday October 29, 2011 from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at the Olde Church of St., Andrew 135 Sycamore St., Newtown. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Helen A. Miller of Ivyland died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Neshaminy Manor Home, Warrington. She was 83.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Miller.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Elizabeth M. Laun Starr and sister of the late Thomas Starr.
Helen was a former resident of Ivyland for 47 years and also a resident of New Seasons at Chalfont for 5 years until most recently moving to Neshaminy Manor Home in Warrington. She had worked with Education Testing Service in Princeton, NJ for 20 years as a Clerk in the College Board Department. Helen was a faithful and devoted parishioner and communicant of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church in Jamison and also served as the Past President of St. Cyril’s Women’s Club. In her leisure, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, bird watching, fishing and vacations spent with her children and grandchildren. Helen will be deeply missed by her family and by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Helen is survived by her dearest children, Doris M. Miller and her companion Brad W. Rodgers of Bedminster, Robert W. Miller and his wife Cynthia of Trenton, NJ, Thomas J. Miller and his wife Melanie of Charleston, SC, Steven F. Miller and his wife Gina of Fairless Hills, Karen E. Gunsel and her husband Scott of Bedminster, Carl F. Miller of Southampton and Patricia A. Quinn of Dublin. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Starr and his wife Helen of Moorestown, NJ and Edward Starr of West Palm Beach, FL, her sister Doris M. Korbel of Buckingham and her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Jennifer, Gretchen, Kimberly, Joseph, Steven, Shirley, Christine, Jeffrey, Daniel and Evan. Helen is also survived by her 4 great grandchildren, Frank, Gabrielle, Ann Marie and Eva.

Donald W. Huff, a hero, best friend and loving and protective husband and father died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at this home with his wife at the young age of 80. He now guards the gates of heaven as a faithful and loyal Marine.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and best friend of forty years, Carol Giemza-Huff.
Don was born in Trenton, NJ in 1931 to the late Joseph and Elvira Brelsford Huff and brother of the late Etta Nelson, Ann Barrett and Clara Haws, Frank, Joseph and Charles Huff and, and his dear friend, Dick Foley.
He was a very special Marine, serving two tours in the Korean Conflict, suffering wounds that caused him to spend two and one half years recovering in the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia. He was decorated with the Bronze Star, Navy Cross and three Purple Hearts. He was faithful to the Corps always wearing the Marine Corps logo on a hat or shirt, Semper Fi Stick.
In this youth his family nicknamed him “Bucky”, he loved baseball and he played football for the Trenton Deacons. He was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and as a spectator enjoyed watching the University of Notre Dame play, Go Irish. Don loved his Catholic faith he was a devout parishioner at the Church of St. Andrew. Before his illness he was actively involved with the RCIA Program and took great pride ushering the Sunday Masses making everyone feel invited. He put a smile on everyone’s face and shared a joke or two before and after Mass. He volunteered at numerous First Holy Communions and Confirmations; he loved seeing all the children at their most special time in their religious life. Don had a love for rescuing Greyhounds, their gentle and calming manner just pulled on his heart strings. His Greyhound, “Alpine” and his Whippet “Charlie, Pots and Pans” will miss him dearly.
In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Cpl. Adam Giemza Huff, U.S.M.C. of West Chester, PA, Midshipman Haley Irene Huff, Drexel University, William Gibbs and his wife Jeanne of Hamilton, NJ, Richard W. Huff and his wife Jean of Fairless Hills, and Barbara Huff Bascara and her husband Jorge of Yardley. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Jennifer Krueger (Jason), Corey Huff (Mary Kate), John Huff Bascara, Christina Bascara, Amanda Gibbs, Laura Gibbs, and William Gibbs and his sweet great-grandchildren, River, Michaela, Bailey, Jason, Cali and Brenden. He also leaves a sister, Lois Cranston of Robbinsville, NJ.

Barbara J. Clark Ward of Holland died peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on the anniversary of her birth, Tuesday, October 18 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
She was the beloved wife of 33 years to Timothy P. Ward, Sr.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa, Barb was the daughter of Dorothy A. Dwyer Clark and the late William Clark.
Barb has been a resident of Holland and a dedicated parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church for 18 years.
Besides her passion for nurturing her family, friends, and patients, Barb enjoyed talking, long days on the beach, learning, attending theater with her girlfriends, Irish dancing, collecting knick-knacks, and serving her community. She shared her peaceful heart with each person she met.
In addition to her loving husband and mother, Barbara is survived by her 4 devoted children: Breanne A., Timothy P. Jr., Ryan T. and Shane C. of Holland. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Rich, Bob, and W. Scott Clark, 16 brothers and sisters- in-law, 26 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews.
All who were touched by Barb are invited to share in the celebration of her life on Friday evening, October 21 from 7:00 to 9:00PM and Saturday, October 22 from 8:45 to 9:45AM at the Joseph A. Louis J. Sabatini of Newtown died Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 84.
Louis was the beloved husband of 60 years to Frances Sorge Sabatini.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John Quentin and Anna Intille Sabatini and father and father-in-law of the late Marianne and Frank Heebner and brother of the late Sally Ann Intille and Jeannine Garifo.
Louis was a former resident of Plymouth Meeting before moving to Newtown in 1996. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II and eventually attended and graduated LaSalle University on a basketball scholarship. Louis was an Analytical Chemist with Amchem Products, Inc. in Ambler, PA for over 30 years until his retirement. While residing in Plymouth Meeting, he volunteered his time in the Community. He served as a Judge of Elections and also as President of the Civic Association. Louis was a Communicant of the Church of St. Andrew in Newtown and enjoyed music, gardening, fishing and was an avid reader. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him.
In addition to his beloved wife Frances, Louis is survived by his children, Michele Petrillo and her husband Dr. Charles Petrillo of Washington Crossing, PA and Dr. John Sabatini and his wife Gabriella of Wrightstown, PA. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Christian, Gabriele, Jessica, Erica, Brianna, Callista, Catherine and Giavonna and his many nieces and nephews.
