Martha P. Connolly

September 2nd, 2018

Martha P. Connolly of Holland passed Sunday, September 2, 2018 at The Fountains at Hayes Mill in Atco, New Jersey. She was 95.

Martha was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Joseph J. Connolly.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Martina Everhart McCarthy and the sister of the late Mary Jane Fenningham.

Martha was a former resident of Holland before moving to The Fountains Community in New Jersey. She was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years until the youngest was school age.  During that time, she was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and was very involved with her children and her Catholic faith. When the family moved to Feasterville, she had worked in the office of Assumption B.V.M School in Feasterville for several years before taking a position as a teller with Central Penn Bank that eventually became Wells Fargo, retiring after 15 years of faithful service. Martha attended the French Culinary Institute in New York for one year while she was in her 70’s following the death of her husband, Joseph.  She so loved the world of cooking. Martha had various artistic talents and loved musical theater.  She had a fondness for High Tea in special places like The Helmsley Palace in New York or the Ritz Carlton.  Martha enjoyed fishing and boating, but her greatest pleasure always came from being with her family who loved and cherished her.

Martha is survived by her 7 children; Michael Connolly and his wife Lynn of Churchville, Sharon Banfe and her husband Jerry of Berlin, NJ, Timothy Connolly and his wife Marguerite of West Chester, Jeffrey Connolly and his wife Beverly of Southampton, David Connolly and his wife Carolynn of Collegeville, Joseph Connolly Jr. and Erin of Warminster and Andrew Connolly and his wife Rosemary of Churchville. Martha is also survived by her 26 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, September 5th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Thursday, September 6 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Martha’s interment will be on Friday, September 7th at 1:30pm in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.

Alvin G. Walcott, Jr.

August 30th, 2018

Alvin G Walcott of Warminster, PA died on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Christ’s Home, Warminster. He was 87.

Born in Bronx, New York, Alvin was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Patricia R. McGuire Walcott, son of the late, Alwyn and Josephine Whitman Walcott, brother of the late Robert and Henry Walcott.

Al as he was known was a graduate of Mastbaum High School and proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a line splicer for Bell Telephone Co and Verizon for over 36 years. Al enjoyed wood working and hunting. He was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church.

He will be remembered for his quick wit and conversation with one and all.

Alvin is survived by his dear children and their spouses; Wesley W. Walcott and his wife Deborah, Susan W. Allen and her husband Gregory, Stephen J. Walcott and his wife Dena, He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Private Services and Interment with Military Honors were held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Albert J. Gibboni, CLTP

August 29th, 2018

Albert J. Gibboni, CLTP, of Richboro, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.  He was 79.

Al was the loving and devoted husband of Bernadette C. Hughes Gibboni.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Albert and Florence Maronski Gibboni.

Al graduated High School from St. Joe’s Prep, received his bachelor’s degree at St. Joseph’s University and his master’s degree at Temple University. 

He spent the early part of his career teaching at Bishop Eagen High School and then as Head Master at The Pen Ryn School. Later he transitioned into Title Insurance.

Al worked in the title insurance industry for 30 years developing and managing agency networks in Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. He retired from Old Republic National Title Insurance Company in 2008 as Vice President - Agency Operations after having been with the Company for 8 years. He served the industry well as past President of The Pennsylvania Land Title Association and President and Chairman of the Board of the Pennsylvania Land Title Institute. He has distinguished himself by earning the designation of Certified Land Title Professional and by having been presented The Distinguished Service Award.

In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his children, Vincent Gibboni (Mary) of Marble Head, MA and Joanne Emmons (Doug McGee) of Jackson, NJ.  He is also survived by Bernadette’s children, Richard Chapman (Missy) of Syracuse, NY, Joseph Chapman (Jody) of Charlotte, NC, and Christine Vavala (Matthew) of Newtown Square, PA. He also leaves behind Michael, Thomas, and Cathy Armbruster and their families; his siblings, Robert Gibboni (Diane), Jerry Gibboni (Kathleen), and Patricia Feely (late Claire); his 14 adoring grandchildren, Dayton, Cody, Flannery, Erin, Bridget, Lily, Cole, Madison, Abby, Nicholas, Cameron, Brody, Connor & Graham; and his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Gibboni (Elizabeth).

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 12:00 Noon at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.  His interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

Dolores E. Haufler (Taylor)

Dolores E. Haufler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. She was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife to the late George J. Haufler, daughter to the late Earl and Regina Thelma Taylor, and mother to the late Kenneth and Michael Haufler.

Dolores is survived by her loving children and their spouses George C. Haufler and his wife Celeste, Richard Haufler and his wife Janet, Michelle A. Haufler, Beth Ann Haufler, Christine Martin and her husband Alan, Kurt Haufler and his wife Andrea, Glenn Haufler and his wife Christina, and Brian Haufler. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren

Robert H. Smith, Jr.

August 27th, 2018

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Robert H. Smith Jr. on Monday, August 27, 2018.  Bob was a 30 year resident of Lansdale having grown up in the Doylestown area.  He was 65.

Born on November 20, 1952, he was the son of the late Robert and Barbara (Leatherman) Smith.   Bob was the beloved husband of 32 years to Laura Packard Smith and proud father of Robyn Smith, of Takoma Park, MD.

Bob was an accomplished tool and die maker, having completed his apprenticeship very early in his career. He worked with several companies in the area throughout the years, but his latest position was at John Evans’ Sons in Lansdale, with 20 years of dedicated service prior to his recent retirement in February. Bob had fond memories of growing up on his family’s farm where he would ride his horse Waco near Peace Valley Park.  He graduated from Central Bucks West, class of 1970. He enjoyed skiing and was previously a member of both the Summit Ski Club and the King of Prussia Ski Club. His true passion, however, was sailing, and he spent many happy weekends cruising the Chesapeake Bay with his wife, daughter, and their many sailing friends.  Bob also enjoyed sailing trips in the Virgin Islands, New England, and an adventurous round trip sail to Bermuda.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Bob is survived by his sisters, Claudia Duke of Hellertown, Carol Rowland (Bill) of Doylestown, and his brother Craig Smith (Patty) of Douglassville.  He is also survived by his four nieces and nephews, as well as four great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road) New Britain, PA 18901. There will be a brief service to complete the visitation. Interment will be private.

Theodora E. Czerniak (Runowicz)

August 24th, 2018

Theodora E. Runowicz Czerniak passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, August 24, 2018.  She was 91.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife to the late Theodore Czerniak, and daughter to the late Victor Runowicz and Amelia Arbocus Runowicz.

Theodora moved to Bucks County with her husband and family in the early 1960s where they built their own house on Jericho Mountain.  There she was a joyful homemaker whose greatest pleasure was to spend time with her family. She loved to travel, to cook, and to play piano.

Theodora is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Martin Czerniak and his spouse, Allene Kline Czerniak; Louise Kurtz and her spouse, James Kurtz; Teresa Present and her spouse, William Present; Christine Richardson and her spouse, Jeff Richardson; and Julia Czerniak and her spouse, Mark Linder.  She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Justin Czerniak, Kara Turner, Theodore Present, Samuel Present, Azriel Czerniak Linder, and Lucja Czerniak Linder.

Lucille T. Grzymkowski (Belcourt)

August 24th, 2018

Lucille T. Grzymkowski of Morrisville formerly of Langhorne.  Died suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Cooper Medical Center, Camden, NJ. She was 80.

Born in Manchester NH, Lucille was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Grzymkowski for 58 years, daughter of the late Roland and Fabiola Hemond Belcourt.

Lucille and her husband Joe moved to Langhorne in 1983. She was a faithful communicant of the Church of St. Andrew, Newtown. Lucille was a graduate of St. Georges High School, Class of 1955. She then received her nursing degree from Notre Dame de Lourdes and subsequently began a diversified career as an operating room nurse. Over her career, she became licensed in CT, PA and NJ. She was the former Director of Nurses at Chandler Hall in Newtown from 1984 to 1990. Lucille also did some teaching at Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Twining Village for several years. She was the Regional Director of Nursing Operations of twelve nursing homes in CT and Mass.  She was an associate Director of Nursing Operations for Total Care Pharmacy in NJ.  She was also a home care supervisor for Medical Personnel Pool, and a state inspector in CT for state run schools for mentally challenged.  Lucille loved the Health Care profession and gave her heart and soul to each and every patient.

She enjoyed baking, knitting and was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, especially with her dogs. Lucille will be sadly missed by her devoted family and many friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children and their spouses Joseph A. Grzymkowski and his wife Arlene of Kent Island MD, James Grzymkowski and his wife Carol of Clayton, NC, Janet Horn and her husband Richard of Morrisville and Steven Grzymkowski and his wife Christine of Pipersville and her sister, Sr. Janet Belcourt C.S.C. of Manchester NH. She is also the proud grandmother of her 13 grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Rick, Nicholas, Theresa, Stephanie, Meghan, Julia, Emma, Evan, Aaron, Olivia and Sophie;  and 4 great grandchildren, Sebastian, Avery, Ignacio and Archer.

Lucille’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro; and on Wednesday morning from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass, 11:00am at the Church of St. Andrew 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.

Regina M. Loftus (Hand)

August 23rd, 2018

Regina Loftus of New Hope died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.

Regina was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Francis R. Loftus.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Carey Hand.

Regina was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Churchville in 1972 and eventually moved to New Hope in 1997. She was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girl’s High School in Philadelphia and was a communicant of  Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Buckingham. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time at the beach in Wildwood Crest and  will be remembered for her infectious laugh that she shared with everyone. Regina was a caretaker to all and at times maintained a balance for moments of solitude for herself. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Regina is survived by her children, Timothy Loftus and his wife Bernadette of Perkasie, Francis Loftus and his wife Suzanne of Churchville and Kelly Loftus Richards and her husband Bob of Newtown. Regina is survived by her brother Joseph Hand of Philadelphia, her sister Johanna Nicholson of Philadelphia, and her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Paul), Nicholas, Katherine and Erin, her great granddaughter Sofia along with her nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday, August 27th from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:30am in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902. Regina’s interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

Kathryn T. “Kitty” McGinley (nee Shaughnessy) of Ocean City, NJ and formerly of Rydal, PA passed away on on August 19, 2018. 

Beloved wife of 65 years of the late Raymond M.  Loving Mother of Raymond McGinley (Kathleen), Mary Jean Kee (Dennis), Patrick A. McGinley (Jean), Maureen Deely (Kevin), Kathleen Benner (David), Hubert McGinley (Lori). Also survived by 30 dear grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.

Kitty’s greatest pleasure was serving others and bringing joy wherever she went.

David A. Ritter

August 19th, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of David A. Ritter announces his passing from a sudden heart attack on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 69. He was born March 31, 1949 to the late Clifford P. and Alice E. Hickings Ritter and has been member of the Rushland community his entire life. After graduating from Central Bucks High School in 1967, he went on to lead a full life. He began his career as a welder for Miller and Son Quarries where he worked for many years before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey by opening K and D Growers and later Warwick Green Grinders.  Dave loved animals, drag racing, and has spent time recently honing his marksmanship skills on the range. He enjoyed being around his family and friends and will be remembered by those close to him as great friend who was always there for them in their time of need.  

Dave is survived by his loving children: Daniel Ritter and his wife Erica, Megan Orlando and her husband Chris, and Patricia Ritter.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Logan and Sienna Ritter and his step sons Kyle and Bryce Jamison.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Friday evening August 24th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday morning August 25th, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the Joseph A.
