Joseph J. Ostroski Jr.

December 27th, 2012

Joseph J. Ostroski Jr., of Williamstown, NJ. died suddenly on December 27, 2012. He was formerly of Northeast Philadelphia.

Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Mary Jane (nee Moncrief), devoted father of Gloria A. McCartney and the late Michael J. Ostroski , dear brother of Thomas V. Ostroski (Mary Anne) and loving grandfather of Julianne E. and Megan B. McCartney.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.

Interment will be private.

Charlotte T. Thomas ( Kohout )

December 26th, 2012

Charlotte T. Kohout Thomas, of Churchville, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was 76.

Born in the Burholme section of Philadelphia, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Theresa Stahl Kohout.

Charlotte will continue to live in the heart of her husband of 51 years, Charles D. Thomas of Churchville.

Charlotte had worked for many years at Smith Kline & French in Philadelphia. After moving to Bucks County, she then was employed for 25 years as a nurse’s aide at the Friends Home in Newtown. As beautiful as the gardens she grew, Charlotte loved nature, flowers, birds, her pet turtles and dogs.

She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Being so strong and significant in our lives it is hard to imagine our time without her. Forever mom…we love you.

In addition to her husband and a dog named Annie, Charlotte is survived by her son: Steven Charles Thomas, daughter-in-heart: Kimberly O’Donnell-Thomas; her brothers: Howard Kohout and Joseph Cooke; and her grandchildren: Steven Robert Thomas, Carolan Marie Thomas, and Sara Rose Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:30 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.

Willard Eugene Wheaton Jr.

December 26th, 2012

Willard Eugene Wheaton Jr. of Chalfont, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville. He was 86.

He was the beloved husband of the late Maria T. Riedlberger Wheaton.

Born in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late Willard Eugene Sr. and Gladys Mae Simon Wheaton.

Mr. Wheaton was a resident of Chalfont for the past 21 years. He graduated from Youngstown College with his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Class of 1948. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served aboard the U.S.S. O’Brien during World War II. Early in his career, he was employed in the welding industry at Taylor Winfield Company in Youngstown, OH. Later he became the founder and owner of Wheaton Company, located in Warrington, for 36 years. In his leisure time, Willard enjoyed building numerous clocks and working on genealogy. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his two brothers, Warren Wheaton of Phoenix, AZ and William Wheaton of Mount Olive, KY. He is also survived by his long time dear friends, David and Marcy Belles of Zionsville, PA and their family.

Michele Shannon (Hoffman)

December 25th, 2012

Michele Shannon of Warminster died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at her residence. She was 47.

Michele was the beloved wife of 20 years to William Shannon.

Born in Meadowbrook, she was the daughter of the late Richard W., Sr. and Regina Markiewicz Hoffman.

Michele was a former resident of Churchville before moving to Warminster in 1992. She was a graduate of Holy Family University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Michele had worked as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Doylestown Hospital for over 10 years. She will be remembered as devoted wife, mother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband William, Michele is survived by her two children, William and Joseph Shannon of Warminster and her brothers Richard W. Hoffman, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Feasterville and David Hoffman and his wife Maureen of Southampton and her sister Denise M. Dillon and her husband John of Langhorne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday, December 29th from 8:30am to 9:30am from the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Eugenia M. Pumo (Alfieri )

December 25th, 2012

Eugenia (Jean) M. Alfieri Pumo of Washington Crossing, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 25 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 72.

She was the beloved wife of the late Victor A. Pumo.

Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Irma Palitto Alfieri.

Jean worked for Bristol-Meyers Squibb for over 20 years and was most recently, before her retirement, a supervisor in Travel Services. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing in the Outer Banks with her family, and playing golf with friends. She was also very active in the Bucks County Neighbors activity club. What she cherished the most above all was quality time she spent creating everlasting memories with her family and especially with her grandsons.

Jean is survived by her loving and devoted children Pamela A. Bruno of Warrington, PA and Victor J. Pumo of Holland, PA, and their respective spouses Larry and Laura. She is also survived by her four grandsons Victor, Michael, Daniel, and Ryan and her brother James A. Alfieri.

Michael Kevin Gies

Michael Kevin Gies, of Newtown, went home to his Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Pennswood Village. He was 50.

Born in Bristol, PA, he was the son of Kathleen G. Hoy Gies of Holland and the late Richard F. Gies.

Michael was a resident of Pennswood Village for the past 32 years. He attended Maple Point High School. While there, he was involved in all types of sports, and golfed on his high school team.

In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his brother: Richard F. Gies and his wife, Nancy, of Willow Grove; his two sisters: Kathleen G. Redante and her husband, Nelso, of New Hope, and Colleen M. Marion and her husband, Daniel, of Danville; 1 niece and 5 nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until his Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will be private.

Samuel Mervis Jr.

December 21st, 2012

Samuel Mervis, Jr. of Chalfont PA, formerly of Devon PA died peacefully on Friday December 21, 2012 at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington. He was 87.

Born in Pittsburgh he was the beloved husband of the late Anne, and son of the late Samuel Sr. and Rose Tatalovich Mervis.

Sam was a graduate of Hopewell High School and Georgetown University. Sam’s professional career started after he served his country during World War II in Central Europe. He worked for over forty years in the Steel fabricating industry; he retired in 1998 as Senior Account Representative, from L. M. Robbins and Son in Emmaus PA. Sam was a man of deep faith and was a founding member and elder of St. Mark’s Orthodox Church in Wrightstown. He enjoyed traveling, jazz music and was an avid reader, especially of American history and the wars fought on American soil. He will be sadly missed by his devoted family and friends.

Sam is survived by his devoted daughter Ilka S. Werner and her husband Robert, one granddaughter, Erica and a brother Robert Mervis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening December 26th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with Parastas services 7:30pm and on Thursday to his Funeral Services at 10:00am at St. Mark’s Orthodox Church 452 Durham Rd. ( at Stoopville Rd.) Newtown, PA. 18940.

Elizabeth Jane Wilson (Nicklous)

Elizabeth Jane Wilson of Philadelphia died Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was 83.

Elizabeth was the beloved wife of 30 years to the late Robert William Wilson.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Adair Nicklous and the mother of the late Robert J. Wilson.

Elizabeth was a resident of Philadelphia for over 70 years. She had worked for the Board of Pensions for the Presbyterian Church for many years. Elizabeth will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Debra A. Brown and her husband Robert of Newtown, Pamela J. Hathaway of Yardley and Joseph W. Wilson and his wife Kim of Langhorne. She is also survived by her brother John Nicklous of Philadelphia and her 6 grandchildren; Kristen (Brian), Pamela (Patrick), Bobby, Ashley, Nicholas and Elizabeth and her 4 great grandchildren; Cayden, Kylie, Molly and Brynn.

Thomas J. Healy Sr.

December 20th, 2012

Thomas J. Healy Sr. of Warwick, PA died peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, PA. He was 80.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Patricia M. Wills Healy for 52 and a half years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Jeremiah J. and Helen R. Lo Bosco Healy, brother of the late Evelyn McManus and Elizabeth Kane, and grandfather of the late Ian Healy.

Thomas worked for General Printing Inc. which is a division of Sun Chemical as a Lab Technician for many years before being promoted as a Supervisor. He was a basketball coach at Juniata Boys and Girls Club, member and president of the Holy Family University Parents Association, and also a faithful volunteer for various other organizations and associations. Thomas enjoyed playing the lottery, trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, but what he cherished the most was time spent creating memories with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love him.

In addition to his beloved wife Patricia, Thomas is survived by his 2 loving sons; Thomas J. Healy Jr. and his wife Geraldine Dowdle of Medford Lakes, NJ and Bryan P. Healy and his wife Kathleen of Holland, PA. He is also survived by his sisters Janet Elder and Sr. Angele Regina Healy, IHM, his brother Gerald Healy, and his four grandchildren Graham, Angela, Patrick, and Bryan Jr.

Marcelle G. Kunst (Whitmer)

December 19th, 2012

Marcelle G. Kunst of Upper Southampton, formerly of Churchville died gracefully on Wednesday December 19, at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 11 years to E. Paul Kunst.

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Evelyn Eddleman Somogyi and wife of the late Gordon Austin.

Born in Canton, Ohio, Marcelle was a resident of Bucks County since 1972. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Canton, Ohio.

Marcelle gave her time and talents to many causes, she was especially devoted to Contact of Bucks County where is served as a Director and was very active for many years. She loved to travel and did so throughout her life with family and friends, an accomplished seamstress, a needle and thread was no challenge to her.
Marcelle was focused on her family and church she served as a Deacon and Elder at North and Southampton Reformed Church in Churchville and they came first and foremost.

In addition to her husband Paul, she is survived by her children; Valerie A. Powell and her husband Mike, Cynthia A. Bird and her husband Robert, Kimberly R. Hedrick and her husband Terry, Jennifer G. Nace and her husband Ryan, Paulette D. Lance and her husband Joe, and Joseph C. Kunst and his wife Kathy. She is also survived by her 12 dear grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Marcelle’s family will receive condolence on Saturday December 22, 2012 from 1:00pm until her Memorial Service 2:00pm at the North and Southampton Reformed Church 1380 Bristol Rd. Churchville PA 18966. Interment will be private.
