June 2nd, 2013
J Dale Moody of Buckingham, PA died peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Buckingham Valley Nursing Home, Buckingham. He was 88.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Moody who died in 2007.
Born in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Austin and Eva Jane Moody and brother of the late Austin Moody and Dick Moody.
Though raised on a farm in Woodstown, New Jersey, he returned many, many Septembers for large Moody family reunions in North Carolina. He never missed a reunion of his class at Woodstown High School. Dale served proudly in the US Navy during World War II. After the war he and his brothers all attended Rutgers University where Dale received his degree in agriculture. After completing college, he worked for the New Jersey Farm Bureau and then studied independently to earn an engineering license, spending much of his career with The Portland Cement Association and then founded his own small business, Planet Leasing.
Dale and his wife Dolores raised their family in Yardley where they shared an enthusiasm for bridge, travel and their many lifelong friends. Dale pursued everything he did with boundless energy, from researching and writing his family history to getting his pilot's license. He was a lifelong Phillies fan, attending many games with his father, his son, his nephews and his grandchildren. He loved politics and relished the long lunches when he and his buddies would gather to talk about the news of the day.
He is survived by his children, Laura Degenhart and her husband, Edward, of Averill Park, NY, Nancy Langer of Penns Park, PA and Scott Moody of Doylestown, PA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Brian Degenhart, Bethany Baum, and Garrett, Quinn and Reece Moody.
The family is ever grateful to the caring staff at Buckingham Valley Nursing Home where he resided for the last five years. He used to love the daily trivia games and his devoted daughter Nancy's daily visits.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service with military honors on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM in Newtown Cemetery, Washington Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mary L. Veit (nee Golebiewski) of Holme Circle died on June 2, 2013.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Richard A., dearest mother of Jo Ann M. Marotto (Richard), sister of the late Helen Wisniewski, Jean Veit and Matthew Golebiewski. She is also survived by 4 dear grandchildren: Christopher Marotto (Kulli), Paige Fuller (Michael), Joy and Paul Marotto and 3 great grandchildren: Raili, Luke and Claire.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday June 10, from 10:15 am until her Funeral Mass 11:15 am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown.

Cynthia Lynn Baker of Chalfont died Friday, May 31, 2013 at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington surrounded by her loving family. She was 49.
Cindy was the beloved wife of 16 years to Scott Patrick Baker.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of James Arthur Walls of Warminster and the late Dolores Wutzer Walls.
Cindy was a former resident of Warminster before moving to Chalfont in 2005. She was an active member of BNI, a staple in the stands at her children’s school and sporting events, and an immediate friend to anyone who met her. She greeted everyone with a smile, and shared her positive spirit at every opportunity. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives and will be missed greatly.
In addition to her beloved husband Scott, Cindy is survived by her cherished children, Bradley James Baker and Aubrey Jordan Baker, both of Chalfont, her brother James Arthur Walls, Jr. and her sister Lisa Anne Froeb, both of Warminster. Cindy is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stephen (Jim) and Sandra L. Baker of Verona, NY and her many nieces and nephews.

Ruth G. Nuss, of Holland, passed away on May 31, 2013 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She was 79.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Ivins George and the beloved wife of over 50 years to the late Harry C. Nuss.
Ruth was a resident of Bucks County her entire life. She grew up in Churchville and after getting married moved to Southampton. Ruth was proud to have had the opportunity to stay at home and raise her family. She especially enjoyed family vacations in Ocean City. She became an Ophthalmic Assistant and worked at an ophthalmology practice for 20 years. She was an active member of North and Southampton Reformed Church and was active in the woman’s circle. After becoming settled at Twining Village, Ruth became part of the welcoming committee and volunteered in the gift shop, among other activities. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed gardening and exercising, sometimes walking up to four miles in an evening. Most of all, she cherished her family and the times spent with them. She will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by her sons: Brad Nuss, husband of Jill of Glen Arm, MD and Roger Nuss, husband of Kim of Wayland, MA; and her grandchildren: Scott, Grant, Emily, Sarah, Charles and Julia.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1:00 pm until her Memorial Service at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 22 at the North and Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Rd., Churchville PA 18966.

Nunzio Pernicone, of Newtown, PA died on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Jefferson University Hospital. He was 72.
He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Christine Zervos.
Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rose Consolazione Pernicone. He grew up in New York City.
Dr. Pernicone was a distinguished member of the Department of History and Politics of Drexel University for 25 years, having previously taught at Columbia University (1969-1975) and the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (1975-1980) and at other schools in New York City in the 1980s. He was appointed Professor Emeritus at Drexel in 2013.
His publication record was substantial, primarily in the areas of the history of 19th and 20th century anarchism and anti-fascism. His scholarly work includes five published books; twenty-four articles, encyclopedia, and dictionary entries, plus many book reviews in prominent historical journals.
Perhaps his most well-known books were Italian Anarchism, 1864-1892 (Princeton University Press, 1993) and Carlo Tresca: Portrait of a Rebel (Palgrave, 2005). He also wrote extensively on the impact and historical interpretation of the Sacco and Vanzetti case — one of the defining moments in American politics of the 1920s.
Dr. Pernicone had on many occasions participated as an expert historian for film, TV and radio documentaries and broadcasts. He contributed 50 scholarly papers at academic conferences and other venues. And, he was the editor of the journal Italian Americana from 2004-2007.
He won prestigious grants and fellowships, including a Fulbright Fellowship in Italy (1967-1969), an American Philosophical Society grant (1973), an American Council for Learned Societies (ACLS) Fellowship (1974-1975), a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship (1974-1975), which he declined in order to accept the ACLS Fellowship, and the Dominic Massaro Prize for the year’s best article in the journal Italian Americana (1999). In 2000 he co-wrote a proposal which resulted in a $10,000 grant from the Italian Government to catalogue the A. William Salomone Collection, which was donated to Drexel. This was a select collection of books on 19th and 20th century Italian political history.
Dr. Pernicone taught 15 different courses at Drexel, mostly in the areas of 19th and 20th century history. He was recognized as a thoughtful and effective teacher who had mentored countless undergraduate students, teaching them to rigorously apply historical methods to understand the world in which they live. He made many strong service contributions to his department. He was the Academic Curator of the A. William Salomone Collection between 1991 and 2009. He organized five conferences at Drexel under the aegis of the Salomone Collection. He also served on many departmental and college committees.
In addition to his wife and his career, the most important things in Dr. Pernicone’s life were opera and his five cats.

Daniel J. McKay of Langhorne, PA died peacefully surrounded by his loving children on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. He was 77.
He was the beloved husband for 50 years of the late Jean M. Del Santo McKay.
Born in Southington, CT, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Theresa DeLuco and father of the late Daniel John McKay.
Mr. McKay proudly served in the National Guard for many years throughout his life. He was a resident of Langhorne for the past 8 years and had formerly resided in the communities of Churchville and Buckingham where he was a former parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, and Queen of the Universe Church. In his leisure time, Daniel enjoyed playing golf, watching Celtic’s Basketball, and traveling with his wife. Daniel will be greatly missed as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend.
Daniel is survived by his daughter, Kim Alison Brady and her husband, Scott, of Warminster, PA and his son, Keith P. McKay of Haddonfield, NJ. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Kizilski, his brother Richard R. McKay, 5 loving grandchildren, Brooke, Paige, Dylan, Anderson, and Kendrick, 1 great grand daughter Madyson, and his longtime companion Anna Ruff.

Isabella K. Weckenman of Huntingdon Valley died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Wesley Enhanced Living in Hatboro. She was 87.
Isabella was the beloved wife of the late Francis A. Weckenman.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Isabella Schaffer Schweizer.
Isabella was a long time resident of Huntingdon Valley before recently moving to Hatboro. She was a charter member of the former Memorial Baptist Church of Huntingdon Valley which is now known as the New Life Community Church. Isabella was an avid Phillies fan and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Isabella is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Frank and Debra Weckenman and Robert and Suzanne Weckenman, all of Richboro. In addition, she is survived by her four loving grandchildren, Mike, A.J. Jessie and Catie.

Charles E. Williams, Jr. of Ocean City, NJ and Naples, FL (formerly of Chalfont, PA) died on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Penn-Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia at the age of 66.
Charles is predeceased by his beloved wife of forty-one years, Romayne C. (Gill) Williams; his parents Charles E. Williams, Sr. and Dorothy (Held) Williams and brother, Robert Williams.
Charles is survived by his devoted sons and their spouses, Brett and Stephanie Williams and Mark and Claire Williams and grandfather of Chase, Maddox, Makynna, Austin and Charlotte.
Charles was brother and brother-in-law of Cathy Hurley (James), Ginny Freyer (Lou), Tom Williams (Mary Jane), Mark Williams (Connie), Rich Williams, Michael Williams (Maggie) and the late Robert Williams (Linda). Lovingly remembered uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Chick was a family man, first and foremost, the eldest of eight and always a presence or host at family gatherings.
Charles was born in Abington, PA on April 30, 1947 and graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School. He had a long career at Verizon and enjoyed rich, life-long friendships with many school and work mates.
In addition to family and friends, he (and wife, “Rosie”) loved entertaining in both their homes. Charles was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed dancing, travel and music of all kinds.
Charles’ family will receive condolences on Monday evening June 3, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday at St. John Bosco Church, 235 E. County Line Rd., Hatboro from 9:30 to until his Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m.

Harry C. Fromuth Jr. of Trevose, PA died peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. He was 86.
He was the beloved husband of Esther Jamison Fromuth for 64 years.
Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Harry Charles and Ella Leedom Fromuth.
Mr. Fromuth was a resident of the Feasterville and Trevose area for the past 63 years. He graduated from Richboro High School in 1944 and later went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry after attending night school at Drexel University, Class of 1962. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Guam during World War II. He was employed for 37 years as a research chemist with Rohm and Haas Company until his retirement in 1987. He was active in supporting Boy Scout Troop #78 and was also a coach for Lower Southampton Township baseball. Mr. Fromuth also served on the Consistory of the Feasterville Community Reformed Church. In his leisure time he enjoyed working with the flowers in his gardens, traveling, and going on family camping trips. He was interested in current events and always ready to discuss and debate his ideas. Mr. Fromuth was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
He was a devoted family oriented man who will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, Richard K. Fromuth and his wife, Marion Cavallaro of Yardley, PA, Robert C. Fromuth and his wife, Michelle Wolfe, of Landenburg, PA, and Mary L. Alford and her husband, David, of Plymouth Township, PA. He is also survived by his two sisters, Eleanor Clayton of Southampton, PA, Katherine Heritage of Holland, PA and his eight loving grandchildren; Maggie, Christopher, Michael (Kathryn), Kelly, Robin, Robert, Patrick and Matthew.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughter Teri Gensel and her husband Rodger of Warminster, and his brother Frank McMenamin and his wife Arlene of King of Prussia. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Dana and Nick Gensel.
