Warren F. Peters

December 12th, 2013

Warren F. Peters of Harleysville, PA died peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at The Birches at Arbour Square, Harleysville, PA. He was 86.

He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores A. Sommerer Peters.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Julius and Katherine Schultz Peters and brother of the late Julius “Pete” and William Peters.

Mr. Peters was a resident of Harleysville for the past 3 years and formerly lived in Quakertown and Richboro, PA. He was a proud Army veteran having served during World War II. Before his retirement in 1986, he was employed for 35 years with Sears and Roebuck. He was a Mason and member of F & AM Jerusalem Lodge # 506. He enjoyed trains, railroads and old western movies. Being family oriented, he enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his three daughters, Judith A. Rogozinski and Bill Stokes of Woodbine, NJ, Pamela Isadore and her husband, Richard, of Pennsburg, PA and Georgianna “Penny” Longaker and her husband, Brian, of Coopersburg, PA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954.

Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.

Fred E. Rapp Jr.

December 11th, 2013

Fred E. Rapp Jr. of Richboro died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 11th at his residence. He was 67.

He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Jo Ann E. Suran Rapp.

Born in Philadelphia PA, Fred was the loving son of the late Myron ‘Brud' and Evelyn Jesser Leonard.

In addition to his wife Jo Ann, Fred is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law; Jason E. Rapp and Jennifer of Perkasie and also his 3 dear grand daughters Leighann, Emma, and Madison.

Rosemary Taylor (McFadden)

December 11th, 2013

Rosemary Taylor, of Doylestown, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She died at home with her daughters by her side. She was 80.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Roseann (nee McIntyre) McFadden.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rosemary grew up with a strong Irish heritage and understood that work was part of the daily routine as a child and remained throughout her life. She worked at Quest Diagnostics in Horsham until her diagnosis with cancer. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, shopping, going to the New Jersey Shore, taking in the theater but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The love that she shared with them will always be remembered.

She is survived by her four daughters; Kathryn (Bob) Yanetta of North Wales, Maria Taylor of Doylestown, Susan Parisi of Doylestown, and Lynn (Tony) Buccafuri of Horsham, and her four loving grandchildren Robert Yanetta III, Timothy Parisi, Thomas Parisi, and Alyssa Mangiaruga. She is also survived by her brothers John (Kay) McFadden, Eugene McFadden and her sister Eileen Powell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Danny, Owen, Floss and Jerry.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 10:00 until her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave., (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be held privately.

Rodney J.F. Thorpe, of New Hope died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at his residence. He was 79.

Rodney was the beloved husband of Amelia Tolman Thorpe.

Born in Liverpool, England, he was the son of the late John F. and Sarah Cooney Thorpe.In addition to his beloved wife, Rodney is survived by his loving children; Helen C. Thorpe (Francis X. McGowan), Simon R. Thorpe and Jeanette M. Thorpe. He is also the dear brother of Paulette, Rita and Lorna. He was the proud grandfather of Dianna Marie Thorpe.

Susan E. Dugan (Wetzel)

December 9th, 2013

Susan E. Dugan, of Holland, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Hospice. She was 62 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Judy and Virginia Wetzel.

Susan was a 1969 graduate of George Washington High School. She then earned her Associates degree in Nursing from Philadelphia Community College. Susan retired after 30 years of service as a nurse at Twining Village in Holland.

Although Susan had many interests, especially reading, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her daughters: Heather Rossi and her husband James of Bensalem, Brooke Dugan of York, and Tracy Dugan and her partner Jessa Holland of Robesonia; her significant other Mark Griffiths; her sister: Virginia Lee Coyle; her four grandchildren: Ella and Hayden Rossi and Jacob and Cory Scholl; and three nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 9:00 am until her Memorial Service at 11:00 am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.

Edward Ward

Edward J. Ward of Sellersville, formerly of Philadelphia died Saturday December 7, 2013 at Abington Hospice, Warminster, with his family at his side. He was 72.

Born in Philadelphia he was the beloved husband of Karen Price Ward and son of the late Edward and Mary Fox Ward.

Ed was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, class of 1959. He was in Real Estate Sales for many years, most recently in new home sales for T.H. Properties, retiring in October of this year.

In addition to his wife Karen, Ed is survived by his children; Sharon Forostiak and her husband Steven, Michael Ward and his wife Christina, Sarah DiMaria and Joshua DiMaria, a sister Diane Phillips of Philadelphia and 7 grandchildren of Brad, Jillian, Jake, Colin, Kevin, Paul and Derek.

Ed’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until Words of Remembrance at 7:45 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 8:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be private.

Gaylen Easter

December 7th, 2013

Gaylen L. Easter of Chalfont, PA died peacefully surrounded by his devoted wife and family on Saturday December 7, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Hospice, Meadowbrook, PA. He was 84.

Born in Jackson, Michigan, he was the beloved husband of 53 years to Elizabeth Easter and son of the late Thomas J. and Margaret Sheetz Easter.

Gaylen was a graduate of Michigan State University, class of 1957 with his degree in Business Administration. Gaylen retired in 1989 after over 40 years in management with Kroger Food Stores, with most of his tenure in the Monroe area. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, the 82nd Airborne Division.

Gaylen and his beloved wife moved to Chalfont, in 2006 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. A man of many talents, he enjoyed carpentry, gardening and playing golf on several leagues.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son; Susan DeGiovanni and her husband Vincent and Thomas Easter and his wife Megan, 2 sisters Frances Phillips and Carol Gibson and her husband Thomas. Also surviving are his 2 granddaughters Maria and Kristina.

Services and interment will be held privately.

Michael E. Bush, of Doylestown, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, died peacefully on December 7, 2013 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 57.

He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Nancy M. Bush.

Born in New Hope, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary Jane Bush.

Michael enthusiastically supported Doylestown community youth athletics. His warm and compassionate spirit inspired everyone he met, both young and
old.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children Shannon Bush, Cailin (Matthew) Kerch, and Michael Bush II; his sisters Denny Frank, Christine Bush, Cindy Schneider and Susan Sobstanovich. He will also be missed as a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hardy Bush.

James Feeney

James P. Feeney, Sr. of Holland died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington. He was 73.

Jim was the beloved husband of 50 years to Barbara A. Rodia Feeney.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Helen Summerfeld Feeney.

Jim was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Holland in 1971. He was a graduate of St. Joseph University and proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp. Jim was the owner of Brotherston Homecare in Bensalem which still continues in operation under the direction of his son Jim, Jr. He was a Communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland in his leisure he enjoyed playing golf, travelling, telling stories and spending time with his family.

In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, Jim is survived by his children and their spouses; Karen and Bruce Demoss of Middletown, DE, James P., Jr. and Mary Feeney of Lake Harmony, PA, Mark J. and Kristin Feeney of Richboro and Matthew T. and Jennifer Feeney of Churchville. He is also survived by his brother Frank (wife Kay) Feeney of Moorestown, NJ , his two sisters Patricia (husband Jack) Crogan of Gibbsboro, NJ and Maureen McDonnell (husband Joe) of Fairfax, VA, his nine cherished grandchildren and soon to be his first great grandson James Paul.

Doris Carrochi (Bate)

December 6th, 2013

Doris Bate Carrochi, of Doylestown passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Neshaminy Manor, Doylestown. She was 83.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Mae Merkle Bate, and sister of the late John “Duke” Bate.

Doris’s family moved often until she started school in Atlantic City, where her life long love of the beach began. Her family moved to Philadelphia and Doris attended Frankford High School from which she graduated in the top of her class.

Although Doris was a stay at home mother she had many roles outside the home. She maintained the books and records for her husband’s construction company for many years and was an active volunteer for several community group’s in the 60’s. She was the treasurer for the Lower Southampton athletic association, a district coordinator for the then Freedom Valley Girl Scouts, active in her church and school association.

Her volunteer roles changed as her children grew and they moved to Doylestown. She became active in a group that worked with the physical handicapped children and young adults and continued her interest in sewing. Later in her life she entered college to pursue and get her accounting degree, working for 2 country clubs and retiring in 1995. After her retirement she volunteered at Doylestown Hospital where she walked many miles delivering mail to patients and departments.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.

Doris is survived by her children: Stephen Carrochi and his wife Regina of Buckingham, Carol A. Carrochi of Doylestown, and Susan Carrochi Sherman and her husband John of Fort Washington: grandchildren: Stephen Carrochi and Megan Mather and her husband Jason, and her sister-in-law Hilda Sansoni and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday December 12, from 10:00 am until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State St. Doylestown, PA 18901.Her interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Doylestown.
