Charles D. Gregory

March 10th, 2014

Charles D. Gregory of Lake Harmony and formerly of Holland, PA died peacefully on Monday, March 10th at Moravian Village Health Care in Bethlehem, PA. He was 73.

He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Nancy O. Dziadkowsky Gregory.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony D. and Anna Mae Lambader Gregory.

Charles was a Veteran of the United States Naval Air Reserves. Working with his brother Robert, Charles helped operate C&S Contracting. Charles was involved in the Jack Frost Ski Racing Program while watching his daughters enhance their skiing abilities. He enjoyed working around the house, tinkering with gadgets, and working in the garage underneath the hood of a car. He was a regular “Mr. Fix It” with a sense of humor that could make any person laugh and smile. Charles, also known as Uncle “Lego”, loved to spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed as a loving and devoted husband and father.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his two loving daughters and their husbands; Danielle J. Carder and Ian of Flourtown, and Stephanie A. Donald and Scott of Bethlehem. He is also survived by his brother Robert Gregory, his sister-in-law Sue Gregory, numerous nieces and nephews, a grand daughter Molly, and grandchildren twins who will know him in his and her hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, March 15th, from 10:00am until his Funeral Service 11:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.

Anthony Louis Modica

March 10th, 2014

Anthony Louis Modica of Langhorne died Monday March 10, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 75.

Anthony was the beloved husband of 53 years to Mary Giovanniello Modica.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Cologero and Kate Berone Modica.

Anthony was a former resident of Yardley before recently moving to Langhorne. In his early years, Anthony had worked as a Commercial Artist and eventually pursued a career in automotive sales.

He was a longtime bowler and enjoyed a good game of golf. His true joy in life was quality times spent with his family and friends. Anthony will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Mary, Anthony is survived by his children, Perry Modica and his wife Diana of North Glenn, CO, Maria Bisogno and her husband Raymond of Yardville, NJ and Michael Modica and his wife Michelle of Langhorne. Anthony is also survived by his brother Charles Modica of Centerreach, Long Island, NY and his 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Danielle, Gabrielle, Stephanie and Jessie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings from 7:00-9:00pm on Friday March 14th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:00am on Saturday March 15th in the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 135 S. Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery in Newtown.

Helen R. Welsh (Rowen)

March 9th, 2014

Helen R. Welsh of Holland died Sunday March 9, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 101.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Herman M. Welsh.

Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Osborne and Victoria Kreutzer Rowen.

Helen lived a long and fulfilling life. She was a former resident of Del Haven, New Jersey for over 30 years before moving to Holland in 1999. Helen worked as a secretary for various companies throughout her lifetime which included Home Life Insurance Company, F.C. Castelli Company and the Aero Service Corporation in Philadelphia. In her retirement, Helen enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, was an avid reader and worked part time at Morrows Nut House in Cape May, NJ. In recent years, she enjoyed visiting the Northampton Senior Center to visit with her friends and participate in various activities. Helen will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Helen is survived by her son Robert H. Welsh and his wife Eleanore of Holland, her 2 grandchildren, Gregory Michael Welsh and Alexis Welsh Dawson and her 5 great grandchildren.

Procession will form at 9:30am on Friday March 14th at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 for departure for 10:30am Graveside Service at Beverly National Cemetery, 916 Bridgeboro Road, Beverly, NJ 08010.

Paul F. Heise

March 8th, 2014

Paul F. Heise of Holland died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 70.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of 41 years to Mary F. Walsh Heise, and son of the late Frederick and Antoinette Gronke Heise.

Paul was a resident of Northampton Township for the past 36 years. He was a graduate of Father Judge High School, class of 1961 and from LaSalle University in 1965 with his degree in Accounting. Paul has been a Manufactures Representative for Industrial supplies, representing Kendel Mfg, DBR, Parker Seals and Gallagher Seals for over 40 years.

Paul was an active parishioner at St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland and for the past 25 plus years he has been a Republican Committeeman in Northampton Township and also served as Treasure of the Northampton Township Republican Party.

Paul was an avid reader of biography’s especially of history and sports, he enjoyed, winter skiing, playing tennis and an occasional trip to the race track. He especially looked forward to his time at the Jersey shore, in Stone Harbor with family and friends. Paul will be remembered for his quick wit and friendly smile.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his 3 sons; Michael P. and his wife Andrea, Matthew J. and his wife Christine and Timothy E. and his wife Nicole Heise. 2 brothers; Chris Heise and his wife Doris and Bill Heise. Also surviving are 5 dear grandchildren; Ella, James, Connor, Olivia and Michael.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday evening March 13, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30m in the Joseph A. Harry David

March 7th, 2014

Harry L. David, Jr. of Doylestown died peacefully on Friday March 7, 2014 at Pine Run Health Care with his family at his side. He was 92.

Born in Cape May, NJ. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Jean W. (nee Campbell) David, and son of the late Harry L. and Mary Dingle David.

Harry was a resident of the Pine Run Community since 1995 and was a former resident of Havertown, PA. He retired in 1987 after over 40 years as a plumbing contractor. Harry was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II.

A man of man of many talents, Harry loved working with his hands and spent many enjoyable hours making stain glass creations. He was active for many years with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in the 5 District, North Region and served as its Commodore. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run in Perkasie. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted family.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his 2 children; Sandra Jean Barkerding and her husband Roger and Alan L. David. He is also survived by his 3 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren.

Harry’s family will receive condolence on Tuesday March 11, from 10:30 am until his memorial services 11:00am in the Old Irish Meetinghouse at the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run (Corner of Elephant and Irish Meetinghouse Rd.) 16 Irish Meetinghouse Rd. Perkasie PA 18944. Interment will be private.

Henry Sliwka

Henry “Hank” M. Sliwka of Holland died Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence. He was 87.

Hank was the beloved husband to the late Mary J. Slota Sliwka.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Michael and Wanda Bialy Sliwka and the father of the late Michael H. Sliwka and brother of the late Albert Sliwka.

Hank was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Holland in 1981. He was an accomplished Machinist and Tool and Die Maker throughout his life and worked with various companies which included Exide Battery and Heintz Company until his retirement. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and boating at the New Jersey Shore and quality times spent with his family. Hank was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed attending the polish festivals and he traveled back to Poland several times.

Hank is survived by his sons, Stephen J. Sliwka of Bristol Township, Mark A. Sliwka and his wife Denise of Warminster and John J. Sliwka and his wife Theresa of Churchville. He is also survived by his sisters Bertha Gentile of Warrington and Wanda Makarewicz of Philadelphia and his 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.

Charles “Mickey” Helstrom

Charles “Mickey” Helstrom of Rushland died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his residence. He was 83.

Mickey was the beloved husband of 57 years to Kathryn Helstrom.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Iver and Margaret Keller Helstrom and the brother of the late Frank Helstrom.

Mickey built his life around hard work and devotion. Mickey was an ambitious and hard working man. Mickey’s success was evident in every aspect of his life. He had a successful career as a business owner as well as an engineer and mechanic at Otis Elevator in which he received a certificate of honor for 30 years of service on the Executive Board. Mickey’s true pleasure was spending quality time with his family and friends. His zest for life shown through an endless sense of humor and devotion to his wife, daughters, and grand children. He will be deeply missed by his family and by everyone whose lives she shaped with unwavering compassion and generosity.

Charles is survived by his wife Kathryn, daughters Linda M. Prisco and her husband Jeffrey of Doylestown and Desiree Schaefer and her husband Rodney of Chalfont. He is also survived by his three cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Dylan and Sophia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am on Monday March 10th at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929.

His interment will be private.

John J. (Jack) Bonner

March 5th, 2014

John J. Bonner (Jack) of Warrington passed away peacefully of complications from pneumonia on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Doylestown Hospital. He had just turned 82 on March 1st.

He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Mary C. (nee Fanelli) Bonner.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Regina Coonan Bonner. He was preceded in death by four sisters.

As a young man he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. His latest medal was awarded to him and other veterans by the government of South Korea to thank them for their service to their country.

Jack was a superb craftsman. He was a Master Stone Mason, Stone Setter and Bricklayer. He also was the Recording Secretary for his Union for many years. Jack was an accomplished pianist who memorized and played many classical compositions. His other hobbies included Astronomy, Model Railroading, and he was also an avid reader of Scientific subjects. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family and by those who both knew him and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his daughter Lynne (Garry), his son Brian Patrick (Karen); his brother Joseph Bonner (Nancy); his grandchildren, Michael and Christine, whom he greatly cherished; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Joseph A. Fluehr Funeral Home, 241 E. Susan J. Wisler (Boaman)

Susan J. Wisler of Doylestown, PA died suddenly on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at her residence. She was 55.

She was the beloved wife of Keith T. Wisler for 32 years.

Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of James A. Boaman and the late Marjorie R. Hawk Boaman.

Mrs. Wisler was a resident of Doylestown for the past 25 years. She formerly lived in Lansdale for several years. Susan graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School, Class of l975. Family came first and foremost in her life. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Susan liked walking on a daily basis and admiring the flowers and gardens throughout her neighborhood. She always enjoyed their family vacations to the shore, especially Ocean City, MD and Virginia Beach, VA. She will be sadly missed as a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her daughter, Julia S. Wisler of Ambler, PA and her father, James A. Boaman of Doylestown. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl R. Grubb of Lansdale and her two brothers, James P. Boaman and his wife, Elaine, of Fairhaven, NJ and David W. Boaman and Andrea Dunn of Phoenixville, PA.

Charles “Chip” Gricius, Jr.

March 4th, 2014

Charles “Chip” Gricius, Jr. of Kingfisher,OK, formerly of Philadelphia, beloved son of Eileen Mc Tamany Gricius, and the late Charles Gricius, Sr., died suddenly on Tuesday March 4th, at 52 years of age.

Chip was a graduate of Father Judge H.S., class of 1979 and attended Philadelphia Community College. He was employed in the Central Supply Departments of several healthcare facilities. He was an avid fisherman at LBI and Core Creek Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Pecura (Robert) and Suzanne Guralnick(Mark); nieces Tara (Brian) and Brittany (Adam) and two great-nephews Charlie and Benjamin, and his uncle John Gricius, he is also survived by many cousins.

Chip’s family will receive condolences on Monday March 10, from 10:00am until his Memorial Mass and Life Celebration 11:00am in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will be private.
