Gerald Flannery

November 30th, 2018

Gerald Flannery passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018 at his home in Holland, PA after a long illness. He was 78.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia Perry Flannery and devoted father of Erin E. Flannery.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. His interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Thomas J. Bee

November 29th, 2018

Thomas Bee, 84, of Buckingham, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

He was the loving husband of Margaret (Carter) Bee; the couple shared 63 years of marriage.

Born October 8, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Thomas was the son of the late John Bee and Ruth (Busch) Foy and father to the late Thomas W. Bee.

Thomas was a partner in the Horlacher and Bee Roofing Company and Andalusia Supply. He retired in 1998 to enjoy his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Thomas was very involved with Pineville Independent Bible Church, where he was a Deacon and an active member of AWANA, a non-profit youth ministry. When not with his family or church, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.

In addition to his wife Margaret, Thomas will be greatly missed by his sons, Robert Bee (Joanne Schneider Bee) and Michael Bee (Debra Otenberger); his grandsons, James and Mathieu Bee and his sister, Norma Strohmeier (Bee). And many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA, with service to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Patricia Kathleen Monreal (Weston)

November 28th, 2018

Patricia Kathleen Monreal of Huntingdon Valley died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Neshaminy Manor Home in Warrington. She was 85.

Patricia was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late Robert A. Monreal.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Mary Weston.

Patricia was a former resident of Philadelphia for many years before moving to Gloria Dei Towers in Huntingdon Valley. At Gloria Dei, she was an extremely active resident in the hospitality department. Patricia had worked at the Christmas bazaar for over 25 years and enjoyed working in various activities as a resident. She was a member of the Holmesburg Baptist Church and participated in their Owl’s Class and was a member of the choir at the New Life Christian Church in Newtown. Patricia enjoyed quality times with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Patricia is survived by her children; Jeanette DeGregorio and her husband Richard of Chalfont, PA, Marybeth Fischer and her husband Michael of Langhorne, PA, Robert Monreal and his wife Susan of Langhorne, PA, Carol Ann Graybeal and her husband Hubert of Easton, PA, Stephen Monreal and his wife Ann of Deptford, NJ. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:00am until her Funeral Service officiated by the Rev. Dr. Norman Leve at 11:00am on Monday, December 3, 2018 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Patricia’s interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn.

Frederick Caldwell, Jr.

November 27th, 2018

 Frederick “Fred” Caldwell, Jr. 

Frederick “Fred” Caldwell, Jr. died peacefully on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Southampton Estates,   Southampton. He was 93.

Born in Philadelphia, Fred was the beloved husband of the late Jane Edelman Caldwell and dearest father of the late Fred Caldwell, III, son of the late Fred Sr. and Alice May Caldwell and brother of the late George and Jack Caldwell.

Fred was a graduate of Northeast High School and a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II and the Korean War, aboard an amphibious Landing Dock ship, an active member of American Legion Post # 79 in New Hope and Bucks County Chapter of the VFW. He was a resident of Southampton for the past 3 years having formerly lived in Churchville for over 40 years.  Fred worked as a master plumber for over 60 years and was a member of the Plumbers Union # 690, working on many major construction projects in the Greater Delaware Valley Area.

He enjoyed working in his garden and was especially proud of his tomatoes. He looked forward to watching and getting to a Phillies game and was a true fan, even when they played poorly.

Fred was a true patriot and true American. When he found out that the Veterans Administration was looking at the Washington Crossing area for a National Cemetery he was on board. Before the decision was made, Fred spearheaded an effort to gain support for bringing the National Cemetery to Washington Crossing and the Guardians organization. He was named as # 1 (aka the First Guardian of the Washington Crossing National Cemetery). He proudly raised the American Flag at the dedication on September 16, 2008 and as of this date 16,251 veterans and family members have been buried in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.  

Fred is survived by his daughter, Lisa A. Caldwell and his daughter–in-law Colleen Caldwell. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Fred Caldwell IV and his fiancée Stephanie Weicker and Elizabeth Jayne Mulvey.

Relatives, friends and members of the Guardians are invited to attend his viewing on Funeral Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 9:00 am until his Funeral Service 10:30 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. Interment  11:30am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with Full Military Honors, Taps and Rifle Volley provided by the Honor Guard of Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Dolores A. Sides (Wilson)

Dolores (Dolly) Anna Sides of Northeast Philadelphia was called home to the Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at River’s Edge in Philadelphia surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.

Dolores was the beloved wife of the late William George Sides.

Born in Philadelphia, Dolores was the daughter of the late Howard and Clara Haehl Wilson.

Dolores was a life long resident of Philadelphia. She was a secretary with NAVILCO for over 10 years at the Naval Depot in Philadelphia. Dolores was a faithful and devoted communicant of Christ the King Church in Philadelphia. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading and will be remembered for being extremely devoted to her family and friends.

Dolores is survived by her children; Gerald "Jerry" Sides and wife, Noreen of Feasterville, Eleanor Weightman and husband, Earl of Cinnaminson, NJ, Edward Sides and wife, Margaret of Fairless Hills, Christopher Sides and wife, Jeanne of Philadelphia, Jeanne Nocito and husband, Gary of Churchville, and Patricia Kelly and husband, John of Lake Worth, FL. She is also survived by her brother Howard Wilson of Bushkill, PA, her sister Regina Reeves of Philadelphia, her half brothers Joel, Paul and Peter Derricks, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by two of her siblings, Michelle Heimbecker and Michael Derricks.

Dolores’ interment will follow in New Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Gordon L. Rinker

November 25th, 2018

Gordon L. Rinker passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was 89.

Born in Kutztown, PA, Gordon grew up in Bethlehem, PA.  He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria Mae Shafer Rinker, son of the late Kenneth and Ellen Boger Rinker and the father of the late Daniel Rinker.

Gordon graduated from Kutztown State College.  After moving to Levittown, he was an elementary teacher in the Neshaminy School District for many years.  He enjoyed gardening and golfing.  Gordon and Gloria also enjoyed travelling the country in their motorhome.  Colorado, Alaska, Newfoundland and Florida were favorite destinations. They were active members of the Delaware Valley Winnies.

Gordon is survived by his loving children; Jane Walton and her husband Richard, David Rinker and his wife Carol, Jill Blomquist and her husband Michael, as well as his 6 grandchildren; Sarah, Laura, Christopher, Kathryn, Samuel and Jonathan and his great-grandchildren Nicholas, Zachary, Lily and Jaxson.

Carl E. Fritzsche Jr.

November 24th, 2018

Carl E. Fritzsche Jr., of Doylestown, formerly of Kailua, Hawaii, died November 24, 2018, at his home. He was 78.

Born in Ft. Fairfield, Maine, he was the son of the late Carl E. Fritzsche Sr. and Margaret Costello Fritzsche.

Until recently, Carl lived the last 45 years of his life on the beautiful island of Oahu.  He successfully owned and operated CPF Distributor’s for approximately 20 years.  He retired and then continued to work at Closet Systems of Hawaii until June 2018.  He was an avid sports fan and reader.  Loved watching college football and always seemed to know something about any player from any team in the country.  An accomplished golfer and long-time member at Mid-Pacific CC.  During his prime, he was a single digit handicap and a GREAT PUTTER.  To his credit, he had six hole-in-ones during his time on the golf course….incredibly making two of them in one weekend!!!  He loved spending time with good friends, family and a good glass of Pinot Noir (or maybe two!).  He was a kind gentleman and will be missed by all.  “Aloha” UC, we love you and will miss you!!

He was the brother of the late Joseph Fritzsche, and Jean DiVona. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, 11:00AM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902.  His interment in Hawaii will be held privately by the family.

Barbara Amsell (Todd)

November 24th, 2018

Barbara Amsell of Hilltown died Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was 84.

Barbara was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles T. Amsell.  

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Hinton Todd.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who, after her children started attending college, enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant for the Mercer Museum in Doylestown. 

Barbara is survived by her children, Loren Amsell and fiancée Tony Berisha of Pittstown, NJ, Amanda Heberton and her husband Bruce of Landenberg, PA and Cynthia Condodina and her husband Dean of West Chester. She is also survived by her sisters Diana Demordy of Furlong and Margie Carleton of Chalfont and her 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Colton, Haydn and Morgan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:30a.m. until her Funeral Service 11:30a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Barbara’s interment will be held privately in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband.

John Joseph Ehrmann, Jr.

November 23rd, 2018

John Joseph Ehrmann, Jr., of Holland, PA died peacefully at home on Friday, November 23, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was 69 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth K. Davis Ehrmann. The couple shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John Joseph Ehrmann Sr. and Eleanor Neri.

John was strong, tough and dedicated. He was a hero to many, but the center of the family to his wife and children. As a decorated US Ranger having served during Vietnam, he was a master marksman, weapons & hand to hand expert/instructor. He was also “Dad” and relished watching his sons grow up. He enjoyed teaching his sons to play baseball and football; and time spent hunting and fishing. He loved to “tinker”, play guitar and could fix just about anything with the simple items around him.

In addition to his wife Elizabeth, John is survived by his sons, John J. Ehrmann, III (Kimberly Corazo) and Jeffrey M. Ehrmann (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle, Jeffrey, Amanda and Christian; his great grandson, Anthony; his brothers, Robert Ehrmann and Joseph Ehrmann; his sisters, Margaret Hawkins and Monica Usher and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet John’s family on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:30am until the start of his Prayer Service, 11:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. His committal, with Military Honors, will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

Anna Holzinger (Schwarz)

November 22nd, 2018

On Thursday November 22, 2018 Anna Holzinger passed away, at The Birches in Newtown, 12 days after celebrating her 95th birthday.

Anna was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Jack Holzinger.

Born in Yugoslavia, Anna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresia Lux Schwarz and was the sister of the late Katharina Buchinger.

Anna was a resident of Richboro for over 50 years before moving to The Birches in Newtown. Anna and Jack loved working in their garden,  planting trees, flowers, and vegetables, which they generously shared with friends and neighbors. Anna also enjoyed baking, taking daily walks with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren.      

Anna is survived by her daughter, Anita Kelly of Yardley, Anita’s husband Neil, and her two cherished grandchildren, Katherine and Jack.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Anna’s interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery in Newtown.
