Lonna Birch (Artz)

September 16th, 2015

Lonna Artz Birch of Lawrenceville and formerly of Langhorne died peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 67.

She was the beloved wife of 47 years to James V. Birch.

Born in Pottsville, PA, Lonna was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Rita Loftus Artz.

Lonna was a Registered Nurse who enjoyed being a School Nurse at Maple Shade Elementary School and at Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township. She was also an Educator in the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Bucks County Technical High School. In her leisure timed, Lonna enjoyed times spent travelling with her family, vacations at the Beach, watching the Green Bay Packers, but most of all were the special memories she created with her beloved grandchildren.  

In addition to her Husband James, Lonna is survived by her loving son James G. Birch Jr. and her three dear grandchildren Devan, Peyton, and Chloe.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Sunday evening September 20th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Monday, September 21st at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:00AM in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.

Lonna’s family would also like to express their appreciation for the care that she received from the Nurses and staff of the ICU at St. Mary Medical Center.

Christopher J. Ploppert

September 15th, 2015

Christopher J. Ploppert of Holland died on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 49.

Born in Philadelphia, Christopher was the beloved son of Hugh J. and Elaine Sperling Ploppert. Christopher was a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School and received his degree in Business Administration from Temple University. Chris has worked in the advertising sale’s for many years, most recently for HIBU and Company. Chris was a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Parish, Holland. An avid sports fan, Chris was all about Ice Hockey and helped motivate his son Ryan who is a hockey player. Chris was a giver and a doer, as he gave in life, he continued in death as an organ donor. He will be sadly missed by his devoted family and friends.

In addition to his parents Chris is survived by his son and daughter; Ryan C. and Olivia A. Ploppert, 2 brothers and their spouses; Michael T. and his wife Elizabeth and Daniel J. and his wife Donna and his niece and nephew Haley and Jack.

Chris’s family will receive condolences on Sunday September 20, from 1:00 pm until his Memorial Service 2:30 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd.(at Holland Rd.) Richboro.

William L. Cole

September 13th, 2015

William L. Cole of Doylestown died suddenly on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 81.

He was the beloved husband of 44 years to late Rosemarie V. Cole. Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved son of the late William F. and Helene Kienzle Cole and father-in-law of the late Cynthia Cole.

Bill was a resident of Doylestown for almost 50 years. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Temple University. Bill retired after 35 years of distinguished service with AT&T. He proudly served in the U S Army as a Radio repairman.

Bill loved to fish especially on the Maryland Shore in Ocean City, MD and he enjoyed reading and watching his vegetable garden grow, which he gave tender loving care. He will be sadly missed for his quick wit and generous smile.

Bill is survived by his devoted daughter and son, Dianna M. Edelman and her husband Bob and David W. Cole, he is also survived by his 6 dear grandchildren; Timothy, Shawn and David Cole, Ashley Poling, Daniel and Nicholas Edelman and 2 great grandchildren Cole Edelman and Sophia Poling.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday September 18, from 9:30 am until his Funeral Services 11:15 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Betty K. Frantz (Sherman)

September 12th, 2015

Betty K. Frantz of Newtown passed away on Saturday September 12, 2015 at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Frantz.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Wilhelmina (nee Schinnerer) Sherman.

Betty was an excellent soprano and a member of various church and community choirs. During World War II, she volunteered at USO Canteens in Philadelphia to entertain troops and later worked for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania.

Betty and Tom lived in Ivyland for 37 years, raised their family there, and made many close friends. She also worked at Churchville Elementary School. Betty later lived in Buckingham, PA for 15 years.

She was a devout Christian and an active member of the Bux-Mont Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed making things for her children and grandchildren. Later in life she took interest in watercolor and pencil art.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Glenn and Nancy Frantz of Bala Cynwyd, Lee Frantz of Wrightstown, Jeffrey and Sandra Frantz of Newtown, and Donna and Harold Card of Southampton, and her brother and sister-in-law Elmer and Gerry Sherman of Hatboro. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: Kathleen, Heather, Jeffrey “JT”, Theodore, Leah, Gretchen, Matthew, and Margaret, and great grandchildren, Austin, Nolan, and Abigail.  She was predeceased by her one sister Helen Stubbs and four brothers; Earl, Herbert, George and Donald Sherman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 12:30 pm until her Funeral Service, 2:00pm at Joseph A. Annetta Rose Zanolini (Grohol)

September 11th, 2015

Annetta Rose Grohol Zanolini of Langhorne died peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 82.

Born in Sugarloaf, PA, Annetta was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred M. vanGroski Grohol. She was also predeceased by her 2 brothers and 2 sisters and her son-in-law Eric J. Kitchen.

Annetta was a graduate of Hazleton High School. She worked for Bell Telephone Company in Trenton NJ for many years. In 1975 she went to work full time as a switchboard operator for St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne until her retirement in 1994.

Annetta was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Parish. She loved to cook and bake, especially for her family. Annetta was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed a game of chance and loved to reminisce about her trips to Ireland and Las Vegas. Family came first with Annetta and you could see the sparkle in her eyes when the grandchildren came to see her. She will be sadly missed by her devoted family and friends.

Annetta is survived by her dear children and their spouses Mark Zanolini and his wife Bonnie, Kevin Zanolini and his wife Karen, Kenneth Zanolini and his wife Joyce, David Zanolini and his wife Judy, Gregory Zanolini and his wife Wendy, Michelle McElroy and Sharon Kitchen Connaughton and her husband Gerard. She is also survived by her 12 dear Grandchildren: Gary Zanolini, Marcus Kitchen, Ashley Zanolini-Yanishevskiy, Bryan Zanolini, Cassandra Zanolini, Buddy Zanolini, Amanda Zanolini, Bridget McElroy, Shelby Zanolini, Ryan Connaughton, Kelsey McElroy, and Maura Connaughton.

Richard E. “Ricky” Moore III

September 10th, 2015

Richard E. “Ricky” Moore, III of Silverdale and formerly of Holland, passed away on Thursday September 10, 2015 at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia with his family by his side. He was 25.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of Loraine Fischer Moore of Warrington and the late Richard E. Moore, Jr.

Ricky attended Council Rock Schools until 2011. He will missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Ricky is survived by his brother, Ian Moore of New York, NY and other extended relatives and friends.

Edna M. Tlush (Champin)

September 10th, 2015

Edna M. Champin Tlush of Langhorne, PA, and formerly of Cape Coral, FL, died at her residence on Thursday, September 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 92.

Born in North Haledon, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Champin. Edna was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Tlush.

Edna studied to be an executive secretary following her graduation from high school. Upon her graduation, she held multiple positions as an administrative and executive secretary and also educated young ladies in a secretarial school in New York City. Edna met Frank, the man with whom she would share a lifetime of love, while working for an engineering firm in northern New Jersey. She was a woman who enjoyed time spent sewing, making ceramics, gardening, and entertaining family and friends in the home she shared with her husband Frank. Edna and Frank enjoyed traveling throughout the country together and spending time at the beach in Barnegat Light, Long Beach Island, NJ, with their daughters.

Edna will be greatly missed and forever cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and servant of the Lord.

Edna is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Frances L. Ebraheem and Michael of Perkasie and Carol A. Lewis and Robert of Langhorne. She is also survived by her eight dear grandchildren, her sister-in-law Betty Tlush, and her two grand-dogs, Chesney and Blake.

Patricia “Trisha” A. Flynn (Higgins )

September 7th, 2015

Patricia “Trisha” Ann Higgins Flynn of Ambler died peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2015, at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Philadelphia surrounded by her loving family. She was 62.

Trisha was the beloved wife of 41 years to Gregory Flynn.

Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Lois C. Carew Higgins of South Orange, New Jersey.

Trisha was an avid baseball fan and tennis player. She was a supporter of women’s soccer and a committed volleyball player. Trisha worked at LTK Engineering Services for 15 years as both the Facilities Manager for the firm and the Property Manager for the building. She was a communicant of Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in North Wales.

In addition to her husband Gregory, Trisha is survived by her two daughters, Laura Colleen Flynn of Los Angeles, CA and Erin Kathleen Flynn of San Diego, CA, her brothers and sisters; Matthew Higgins and his wife Jackie of Middletown, NJ, Richard Higgins and his wife Bonnie of Morris Plains, NJ, James Higgins and his wife Jill of Skillman, NJ, Ginny Morey and her husband Jim of Edgewater, Florida, Roberta Kraus of New York, NY, Kathleen Moss and her husband Richard of Iselin, New Jersey, and Colleen Zelina and her husband Mark of Holmdel, NJ. She is also survived by her beloved dog Frankie and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joan M. Heuchert of Quakertown, PA went with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 7, 2015. She was 74.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years to John W. Heuchert.

Joan treasured spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren whom she adored. She had a passion for staying active at the local YMCA and all things creative. She was always present for family functions and activities. She will be dearly missed as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Joan is survived by her husband John, and her children, Donna Britsch and her husband, Lawrence, Denise Navarrete and her husband, Chad, and John Heuchert, Jr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole Britsch and her fiancée, Mark Pfeiffer, Sean Britsch, Kyle Heuchert and Abigail Heuchert.

Rita E. Hennessey Humphreys, age 89 formerly of the Villas in Cape May, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living of Northampton, PA.

Rita was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late Norman E. Humphreys Jr.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Deckert Hennessey.

Rita worked for Nabisco in Philadelphia for many years.

Rita is survived by her children and their spouses; Patricia Dzubak, Norman E. Humphreys III and Rosanne, Michael Humphreys and Jane, and Susan Neiss and David.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
