Doris D. Roller (Rich)

March 5th, 2016

Doris D. Rich Roller of Bensalem died peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her residence. She was 85.

She was the beloved wife of the late David P. Roller Sr.

Born in Philadelphia, Doris was the daughter of the late Ada Devona Snyder Rich.

Doris has been a resident of Bensalem for 50 years and was a devoted member of Bensalem Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed being a supportive and loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend and for that, Doris will be greatly missed by everyone.

She is survived by her loving and devoted sons, David P. Roller Jr. and his wife Susan, and Paul Lee Roller and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren; Heather L., Benjamin W., Paul Lee, Jr., and Kyle A.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 from 10:00am until her Funeral Service 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville.

Rev. Stephen R. Thorn

March 5th, 2016

Rev. Stephen R. Thorn, age 69, of Tucson, AZ., formerly of Somerton (N.E. Phila.), Columbus, OH and Wheeling, WV,  passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Tucson Medical Center Hospice Unit, surrounded by several family members and his best friend. The cause of death was cardiac arrest due to underlying metastatic cancer.  Prior to his final illness, Steve had resided for the past several years at St. Luke's Home in Tucson.

At the time of his death, Steve had been placed on VA Agent Orange full (100%) service connected disability arising out of his prior U.S. Army military service in Vietnam during 1967 and 1968.  Steve was justifiably proud of his honorable service to his Country with the United States Army (“ A " BTRY, 2d BN, 94th ARTY), while stationed at Camp J.J. Carroll, near both the DMZ and Khe Sanh, in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, as a result of which he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant ( E-5 ) and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (ACM) for meritorious service in combat. 

Steve was a 1965 graduate of Father Judge H.S. in Phila. and was a 1992 graduate of World Harvest Bible College ( now called Valor Christian College )  in Columbus, OH.  After completing his military service, Steve worked for several companies in N.E. Phila., including the former Fred Hill Co. and United Refrigeration Co., and later worked for a period of time in Phoenix, AZ., before deciding to attend bible college in Columbus, OH, upon graduation from which both he and his wife Lorna were ordained as ministers. For the next twenty years or so thereafter, together with his late wife Lorna Long Thorn, Steve served as a minister / worship leader at several Bible - based Christian congregations in Columbus, OH., Wheeling, WV and Tucson, AZ.  

Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorna Long Thorn, who passed away in 2010, by his parents, William J. Thorn, Jr and Mary J. Thorn, and by his older brother Joseph F. Thorn.  Steve is survived by his seven brothers and sisters : William J. Thorn III (Joanne), John T. Thorn (Janet), Mary J. Miller (Charles), Elizabeth Anne Mc Donnell (Ronald), Kathleen M. Peterson (Wayne), Joanne M. Alexander (Richard) and Carol Anne White (James),  and by numerous nieces and nephews.  Steve is also survived by his good friend and fellow Army veteran Richard Olafson of Tucson, to whom Steve's family owes a special debt of gratitude for his countless selfless acts of kindness and for always being there to help our brother Steve .  

Steve's memorial funeral service and burial with full military honors at the Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Newtown, PA are private.

Cecelia "Bunny" Gallagher (Marsilio)

March 4th, 2016

Cecelia M. Gallagher of Sellersville formerly of Richboro died on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Hidden Meadows in Sellersville.

Born in Arnold, Pennsylvania, “Bunny” as she was known to family and friends was the beloved wife of the late James J. Gallagher and daughter of the late Bernard A. and Carmella C. DiDomenico Marsilio.

Bunny was a resident of Richboro and a former parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Parish, and most recently, St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She has been a resident of Hidden Meadows for the past twenty months. Bunny was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, class of 1960, and worked as an Administrative Assistant at First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown for several years.

She was active in several women’s organizations; Council Rock Seniors, the Soroptimist International of Indian Rock. Bunny was an avid reader and was extremely good at Trivia games. She will be sadly missed by her devoted family and friends.

Bunny is survived by her dear children and their spouses James J. Gallagher, Jr. and his wife Stacie, Constance A. Hutchison, Alice M. Tomeo and her husband Jay, Michael P. Gallagher and his wife Jaime. She is also survived by 7 adorable grandchildren; Andrew R., Thomas J., Danielle A., Matthew J., Ryan J., Anna K., and Owen J., and the late Kathryn A.  Dear sister of John Marsilio and Bernadette Silver and her husband Gene. She is also survived by her sisters-in law of Sr. Alice Gallagher, SSJ, Mary Jo Maier (Paul) and Anne Ricci (Joseph), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bunny’s family will receive condolence on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 9:30 am until her Funeral Mass 11:00 am at St. Vincent dePaul Church 654 Hatboro Rd. Richboro. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Edward “Ed” Gallagher

March 3rd, 2016

Edward R. “Ed” Gallagher of Trevose died peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2016 surrounded by his family at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to his wife, Betty.

Ed was a proud Veteran of the US Navy who served aboard the Destroyer USS Gainard. He worked for many years for Williard, Inc. as a Project Manager. In his leisure, Ed enjoyed cooking, playing golf, gardening, and traveling. Above all he cherished the times he spent with his family creating memories that will last forever. Ed will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and love him.

In addition to his wife Betty, Ed is survived by his children and their spouses Edward Gallagher and Kathie of Humble, TX; Diane Crawford and Glenn of Warminster, PA; Daniel Gallagher and Sarah of North Potomac, MD; and Lynne Sweet and Daniel of Middletown, PA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren; Sam, Carissa, Amanda, Jamie, Duncan, Drew, Stephanie, and Austin.

Marjorie A. Martin (Oliver)

March 2nd, 2016

Marjorie A. Martin of Chalfont died peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was 84.

Marjorie was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Richard Martin.

Born in Somers Point, NJ, Marjorie was the daughter of the late John and Ann Hewitt Oliver.

Marjorie was a resident of Chalfont since 1964. She was a graduate of the Lankenau Medical Center and in her early years was a Nurse Anesthetist at Temple Hospital. Eventually, after moving to Chalfont, Marjorie became a traveling Registrar with the Register of Wills in Doylestown where she had worked for over 25 years. In her leisure, she enjoyed a good game of bridge and was an avid reader. Marjorie also loved spending time with her friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Lori Tulio and her husband Richard of Chalfont, Valerie J. Fuller and her husband David Croll of Bedminster, and Stacy O’ Connor and her husband the late Thomas of Maui, Hawaii. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ida Oliver of Poughkeepsie, NY, her 5 grandchildren Bradley and his wife Kim, Nicole, Ian, Corinne and Kaitlin, her great grandson Cole, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 11:00am until her Funeral Service 12:00PM on Saturday, March 12th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901.  Marjorie’s interment will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 14th in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

Joseph Mravich

February 29th, 2016

Joseph Mravich, of Chalfont, PA, formerly of Youngtown, died on Monday, February 29, 2016, at New Seasons at New Britain. He was 93.

He was the beloved husband of 69 years to Ann Tirpack Mravich.

Born in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mildred Meardvich Mravich.

Joseph was born and raised in Youngstown he was the youngest of 7 children. After graduating from high school he joined the US Navy and proudly served his country during World War II.  When he returned home from the war he worked as a carpenter.  Like many tradesmen, he started at the bottom.  However, with hard work he refined his skills and used them to start his own business, BTM Construction. Throughout the years he worked in all the facets of the construction and building industries, perfecting his expertise every step of the way.   

He was an outgoing and friendly man who enjoyed having a conversation with anyone at anytime.  He loved to whistle, sing and play the harmonica for his family and friends.  His outgoing personality and contagious happiness will be truly missed by those who knew him, especially his granddaughters.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Marla Garneau of Chalfont, and his two granddaughters, Kirstyn Garneau and Whitney Garneau. He was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Mravich.

His services and interment in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA will be held privately by the family.

Delbert J. Hinkle

February 27th, 2016

Delbert J. Hinkle of Lansdale died peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Saturday February 27, 2016. He was 65.

He was the beloved husband of Kathryn A. Richards Hinkle.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the Mary Grace Jordan Hinkle of Bethlehem and the late Delbert K. Hinkle.

Del grew up in Bethlehem and was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, class of 1968. He received his degree in Political Science from Villanova University in 1972. Del was a former member of the Army National Guard and First City Troop of Philadelphia. He served as Assistant Vice-President of claims for Global Indemnity Group in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

Del was family focused; they came first and foremost in all that he did. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf and spending time in Bonita Springs Florida. He also enjoyed the various ministries he was involved with at St. Marie Goretti Catholic Church.

In addition to his beloved wife and mother he is survived by his three sons; Mark Hinkle and his wife, Patricia, Adam Hinkle and his wife, Alexandra, and Brian Hinkle. He also leaves behind his adoring granddaughter, Kathryn Grace; his siblings, Dianne Schoch and Sharon Seitz; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:30 am at St. Maria Goretti Church 1601 Derstine Ave. Hatfield PA. 19440. His interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Beth Ann Brown (Post)

Beth Ann Brown of Warminster died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday February 27, 2016 at the Masonic Village in Warminster. She was 78.

Born in Mahanoy City, she was the beloved wife of 54 years to John Mark Brown, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Millard Post.

Beth Ann was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School, class of 1955. Beth and her husband John moved to Warminster in 1966. She has been a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Southampton for many years even though her health prevented her from attending as often as she would have liked. She was the consummate Mother who loved her children dearly and would do anything they asked. She instilled love for family and friends and to this day her children follow her Golden Rule, “Be Kind”, Beth Ann loved sports especially the Phillies and would support them no matter what. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Beth Ann is survived by her children; Debra A. Lichon, David A. Brown and Scott C. Brown. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Post and his wife Ann and 3 dear grandchildren; Christopher, Aidan and Alexis.

Barbara C. Kelly (Henry)

Barbara C. Kelly of Holland, PA and Ocean City, N.J., passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. She was 79.

She was the wife of the late Matthew A. Kelly, Jr. who passed away in 1992.

Born in Philadelphia Barbara was the daughter of the late John P. and Beatrice Schenck Henry.

Barbara was a loving wife and mother whose devotion was always first to her family and raising her eight children. She later owned her own Craft Doll business called “Kelly Crafts” and often travelled to various flea markets to sell her creations.

Above all else, spending time with her friends and family was always paramount to her and she treasured countless memories made with them at her home in Ocean City, N.J. She will be dearly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

Surviving are Barbara’s children, Maureen Anne Donofrio (Jerry), John M. (Amy), Joseph M. (Susan), Stephen E. (Kenann), Suzanne M. Lopata (Matthew), Matthew A., III (Tierney) Michael F., and Marcia Anne Barish (Lonnie). She also leaves behind her 17 adoring grandchildren.

William “Bill” Ginty Jr.

William “Bill” M. Ginty Jr., a longtime resident of Newtown, PA and Ocean Grove, NJ died on Friday, February 26, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 80.

He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Marty Ginty.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William M. Sr. and Ida C. Kirk Ginty, and is pre-deceased by his daughter, Karen Ginty and his two sisters, Beatrice Cornett and Judith McMonigle.

After graduating from Northeast Catholic High School, Bill enlisted in the US Navy, serving proudly on 4 aircraft carriers during the Korean War. Following his military service, he attended Temple University and graduated from Bloomsburg University, where he met his future wife, Marty Moyer. He received a Master’s degree at Rider University in Educational Administration and was employed as a teacher and administrator in the Bristol Township school district for 30 years, serving in several schools.

Bill was a lifetime member of the USS Intrepid Association as well as the American Legion and the VFW. Following his retirement, he owned an antique shop in Newtown and participated in antique shows in the area.

During their retirement years, Bill and Marty enjoyed summers in Ocean Grove, NJ and winters in Key West, FL.

In addition to his beloved wife Marty, William is survived by his loving children William M. Ginty III (Denise Moloney), and Christopher Ginty, his brother Paul M. Ginty (Sally), his sister Nona Hammer, and brother-in-law Tom McMonigle, along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940 from 10:30AM until his Funeral Mass 11:30AM. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
