John F. Yavornitzki

March 30th, 2016

John F. Yavornitzki of Doylestown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Pine Run Health Center with his loving family by his side.  He was 79.  John was the beloved husband of 55 years to Marilyn J. Bedworth Yavornitzki.  Born in Ilion, New York, he was a son of the late John and Ruth Halloway Yavornitzki.  

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many that were blessed by his presence.  Born and raised in Ilion, NY, John met the love of his life Marilyn Bedworth at Ilion High School.  He was a standout basketball point guard for the Ilion Golden Bombers and served in the Navy. He graduated from the State University of New York at Morrisville, attaining a degree in Food Technology. John was a successful and admired Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Oneida Ltd., performing for over 34 years.  

Throughout his life he brought joy to so many through is infectious laugh, wisdom, guidance, and selfless acts of kindness.  He always put his family first and is deeply loved.  During his final years of life he demonstrated strength, character, and resilience as he fought courageously against life's challenges while never losing faith.  

In addition to his wife, Marilyn, John is survived by his children, Susan L. Yavornitzki-Ottey, Brian K. Yavornitzki and his wife, Maria, and Bradley A. Yavornitzki. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maura and Natalie Yavornitzki, and Kayla, Kelsey, Carina, and Justin Ottey.  He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter, Rhea Hosking, and many adoring nieces and nephews. He remains fondly loved by his siblings of upstate New York, William A. Yavornitzki, Emilie Duffy (Joseph) and Diane Stubley (Thomas).  

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016  at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave., (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901 and on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2631 Durham Rd., Buckingham, PA 18912.  Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.

Jane F. Riccardi (Caggiano)

March 30th, 2016

Jane F. Riccardi of Trevose, PA died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, surrounded by her family at Holy Redeemer Hospice, Meadowbrook, PA.She was 84.

She was the beloved wife for 43 years of the late Albert Riccardi.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Dels Caggiano.

Mrs. Riccardi was a resident of Trevose since 1966.  She graduated from Simon-Gratz High School in Philadelphia, PA,, Class of 1950.  She enjoyed baking, dining out at different restaurants, and hosting the traditional Christmas Eve dinner with seven fishes. Family was first and foremost to Jane.  She loved the special times spent with her son and her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and plays.  She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Riccardi and his wife, Kate, of Philadelphia and her three grandsons, Noah, Gabriel and Jacob Riccardi.  She is also survived by her niece and caregiver, Denise Drechsel of Trevose, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 9:30 AM until her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Trevose, PA 19053. Her interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

Patricia H. Gossard (Hirst)

March 30th, 2016

Patricia H. Gossard of Holland passed away on March 30, 2016 at her home.  She was 88.

Patricia was the beloved wife of 56 years to Ralph M. Gossard. 

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Smith Hirst and sister of the late Edward Hirst Jr., Cyril Hirst, Margaret Cummings, John Hirst, Harry Hirst, and twin sister Mary Gray.

She was a graduate of Little Flower High School.  Patricia retired from a career with SmithKline & French and she enjoyed playing in a Bridge group for many years.

In addition to her husband, Patricia is also survived by her children, John H. Gossard and Kathryn M. Sebastian (David) and her granddaughters, Emma Gossard and Mya Sebastian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am on Friday, April 8th in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  Her interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Gina Marks

March 30th, 2016

Gina Marks, born in 1941 as Mary Gina Constance Moore of Beverly Hills, CA passed away peacefully on March 30th in New Hope, PA with her family by her side after a long struggle with cancer. 

Gina was raised in Beverly Hills and lived in Southern California for most of her life until moving to New Hope in 2004 with her husband Terry Marks.   Gina and Terry were married in Beverly Hills in the home of her parents Constance (Moore) Maschio & Johnny Maschio.  They were together for 34 years in an amazingly loving marriage, never apart for more than 24 hours.  Gina & Terry shared a passion for music and good times out with friends, enjoying the music scene in Southern California and then in the New Hope area.  Gina and Terry’s Love was a unique and enviable bond of support, strength and friendship. You KNEW you were going to have a great time in their presence and see an example of closeness and connection between the two.

In her younger years Gina medaled in high school on her swim team, and also appeared in stage productions, including "Annie Get Your Gun," where she acted alongside her mother actress Constance Moore.  Gina was a great skier and an avid reader.  She was the president of her children’s PTA and a Brownie Troup leader.   Her working career included public relations and volunteering for SCCA racing events.

Gina’s gift was to make friends out of perfect strangers with her vivacious & outgoing personality.  She had wit, charm, charisma, and her open minded disposition was known throughout New Hope.  Never shy, she would proudly pull out photos of her family to share with friends old and new.  Gina was without a doubt an extraordinary woman who possessed a genuine, fun, loving, and undeniably unique personality.  Her warmth and love filled the room wherever she went.  She was a beautiful woman inside and out.

Gina is survived by her loving husband Terry Marks, her adoring daughters Beth Cahn Kennedy & Deborah Cahn Scott, esteemed son-in-law Rick Scott & her amazing grandson Thomas Kennedy. Gina has been be reunited with her loving daughter Meghann Marks who passed several years ago. 

Gina shared with her family before passing “I was a lucky woman, who led an amazing life!” 

Respecting Gina’s wishes, there will be no services.

Rita H. Goffredo ( Eisele)

March 28th, 2016

Rita H. Goffredo of Newtown, formerly of the Greater Northeast section of Philadelphia, died peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2016 at The Birches of Newtown, with family by her side. She was 95.

Born in Philadelphia, Rita was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Goffredo, daughter of the late John and Emma Hepp Eisele, sister of the late Emma Aquilino and John Eisele.

Rita was a resident of the Greater Northeast for most her life, she attended Frankford High School, was a former parishioner of St. Matthew Church. She was active with the Catholic Daughter’s and the St. Matthew Senior Citizens.

Rita lived in Newtown for the past 8 years of which 2 and half years were at the Birches. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Andrew; she enjoyed bingo and bowling and played in a bowling league well into her 80’s. The Phillies and Eagles, got a lot of her support especially when they where winning. Rita enjoyed family trips to New Jersey, which sometime included stopping to play a game of chance. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted family.

Rita is survived by her loving children Vincent J. Goffredo Jr. and his wife Barbara, Janice M. Hudson and her husband Richard, Robert Goffredo and his wife Annmarie and Michele M. Melby and her husband Michael. She is survived by her sister’s, Margaret Lamartine, Mary Tompkins, Irene Curry and Florence Watson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday April 1, 2016 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.

Ruth A. McComb (Hallowell )

Ruth A. Hallowell McComb, of Holland and formerly of Langhorne, died peacefully at daybreak on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Chandler Hall in Newtown. She was 94.

Born in Philadelpiha, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Myres Hallowell and the beloved wife of 73 years to the late Frank C. McComb.

Ruth was a former long time member of Langhorne Country Club which later evolved into Middletown Country Club. She enjoyed working with ceramics, bowling, gardening, and playing Golf with her dear friends, but, she cherished the times she spent with her family creating memories that will endure forever in their hearts. Ruth will be greatly missed by everyone who has come to know and love her

She is survived by her loving daughters: Ruth A. Benek of Warminster and Kimberly A. Hart and her husband Gregory J. of Holland; her grandchildren: Michelle Leo, Barry Benek, Christopher Benek (Sandra), and Jessica Cullen, her great grandchildren: Jacob, Emilie, Mina, and Ariana, and numerous nieces and nephews

Ruth’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March, 31, 2016 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966. Susan Mary Hill (Rosanelli)

Susan Mary Hill, of Chalfont, died on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Doylestown Hospital. She was 81.

She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Charles D. Hill Sr.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Pappero Rosanelli, mother of the late Anthony and Timothy Hill and grandmother of the late Anthony Hill, Jr.

Susan was raised in Chalfont and married her beloved Charles in 1955.  For over 79 years she has lived in Bucks County and for 51 years she has been an active communicant of St. Jude Church.

She was a mother of nine, although she fostered over 50 children for Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency, two of which she adopted.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Charles D. Hill, Jr. and his wife Bonnie Hill of Hilltown, Anna Marie Hill-Baran and her husband Walter Baran Jr. of Chalfont, Judith Hill-Nixon of North Wales, Christina Stillwagon of Chalfont, Lisa Junod and her husband Kevin of Doylestown, Paul Hill and his wife Justina of Harleysville, Matthew Hill of Chalfont, her daughter in law Fran Goerlich of Glenside, and her brother Frank Rosanelli and his wife Patricia of Kutztown, PA.  She is also survived by 22 grandchildren: Charles D. Hill III (Marisa) of Philadelphia, Christopher Hill of Doylestown, Cutler Hill (Christina) of Horsham, Gregory Hill of Hilltown, Max Hill of Hilltown, Kelly Burke of Saratoga Springs, NY, Lauren Burke of Harrisburg, Deborah Hill of New Britain, Karen Hill of New Britain, Daniel Hill of New Britain, Sarah Hill of Hamden, CT, Lisa Baran of Lansdale, Angela Colantonio (Robert Joseph) of Chalfont, Christina Baran of Chalfont, Paul Nixon of Conshohocken, Adam Stillwagon of Chalfont, Brian Stillwagon of Chalfont, Alex Junod of Philadelphia, Samantha Junod of Doylestown, Mary Junod of Doylestown, Nicholas Hill of Harleysville, and Logan Hill of Harleysville and her 2 great grandchildren; Chase Hill of Philadelphia and Nina Colantonio of Chalfont.

Nancy T. Kunkle Guiher, of Fairless Hills, PA died suddenly at Aria Hospital Bucks County Campus on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was 72.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Anne Baird Kunkle.

Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Michael D. Guiher and Susan of Ivyland, her brothers John H. and Robert M. Kunkle, Sister-in-law Wendy Kunkle, 4 nephews 3 nieces and her 4 grandchildren.

A private Interment and Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in the North and Southampton Reformed Church.

Helen D. Thomas of Perkasie, PA died peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2016, surrounded by her family at Doylestown Hospital. She was 77.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Thomas.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Keppard Donahue.

Helen was a resident of Perkasie for the past 4 ½ years. She formerly lived in Warminster for 50 years. Helen graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Philadelphia, Class of 1956. Her career as a claims processor for Prudential Insurance Company spanned over 17 years. After having a family, she raised her children before returning to her previous job and eventually retired in 1994.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, playing board games, watching movies and playing a good game of miniature golf. Each day she completed her crossword puzzle in the morning, and was an avid fan of watching her soap operas in the afternoon. She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, mom-mom and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy L. Danberry (Dave) of Perkasie and her son, Scott J. Thomas (Kristy) of Sellersville, PA. She is also survived by her four loving granddaughters, Alyx, Sammy, Ambyr, and Kerowyn; and her best friend since childhood, Marie Harrer Linn.

Paul R. Sullivan

Paul R. Sullivan, of Southampton, died suddenly at his residence on Thursday, March 24. 2016.   He was 54.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Paul was the son of Robert and Betty Rubincam Sullivan.

Paul worked for many years as an independent sales representative and delivery person for The Tastykake Company, and most recently worked as a house painter.  In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time appreciating nature at various parks, but he cherished the times he spent with his family and children.  Paul will be greatly missed by everyone who has ever had the pleasure to know and love him.

In addition to his beloved parents Robert and Betty, Paul is survived by his loving children Joseph, Stephanie, and Paula, his granddaughter, Kayleigh his brothers Mark A. Sullivan, Robert J. Sullivan Jr. (Deborah), his sisters Linda J. Dick (William), and Jeanne M. Sutton (Thomas).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
