April 25th, 2016
Colonel Thomas P. Garry, US Army Reserve (Ret.) of Pine Knoll Shores, NC died peacefully in his home on Monday, April 25, 2016.
He was the beloved husband of Judith Garry (McDonald) for 54 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Kelly) Garry and brother of the late Edward Garry.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Thomas P. Garry, Jr., of Moorpark, CA and his daughters: Julia Benecke of Sellersville, PA; Noreen Hildebrand of Purcellville, VA and Nancy Tepsic of Castle Pines, CO as well as his brother, Stephen Garry of Willow Grove, PA and his sister, Marie Garry of Florida. His nine loving grandchildren Michael, Patrick, Sean, Ian, Anna, Timothy, Meghan, Sarah and Sophia and great granddaughter Kendall also survive him.
He was a resident of Warminster and Buckingham, PA before moving to Pine Knoll Shores, NC in 2001. He received a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and was a student in the Doctorate of Science program at George Washington University.
Colonel Garry entered active duty as a second lieutenant in 1961 at Fort Knox, KY and trained as an armor officer. As an outstanding armor officer he trained armor officers and soldiers at Fort Knox until 1964. He was then assigned to the 157th Separate Infantry Brigade in Willow Grove, PA and became the Battalion Adjutant of the 4/77 Tank Battalion. He had increasingly responsible positions in the Army Reserve including commanding the 358th Civil Affairs Brigade. Under his leadership a Capstone direct support relationship was successfully developed between the Army Reserve's 358th Civil Affairs Brigade and the US Navy's Commander in Chief Atlantic Fleet (CINCLANTFLEET). After an accomplished command of the 358th he was assigned to the 79th ARCOM as Assistant Chief of Staff, Director Operations and Intelligence (ACSDOI) and was subsequently made Assistant Chief of Staff Director of Operations and Training, (ACSDOT). During his service, Colonel Garry was awarded the Legion of Merit decoration for his exemplary service at very high levels of the Army Reserve and also earned two Meritorious Service Medals. He retired from the 79th ARCOM in Fort Meade, MD in 1991.
As a result of his service he became a lifetime member of the Reserve Officers Association, Civil Affairs Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Department of Defense Regimental Civil Affairs Association.
In civilian life, he retired from Rohm & Haas in 1996 after 33 years of management positions and also served as Chairman of the Rohm & Haas DelVal Credit Union.
He was actively involved in his community and served as a member of the Washington Crossing Association Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors for Mountbatten Surety Company, which was listed on the NASDAQ exchange before being sold. For many years he was a re-enactor for the Christmas Day re-enactment of George Washington crossing the Delaware River. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing with friends and family. Most of all, he enjoyed hosting his children and grandchildren for their summer vacations at his home in Pine Knoll Shores. He will be sadly missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Doris M. Beisheim of Yardley passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Manor Care in Yardley. She was 91.
Doris was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Nicholas Beisheim.
Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Albert and Edna Terhune Riegert.
Doris was a former resident of New Milford, NJ before moving to Yardley. In her leisure she enjoyed the quality times that she spent with her husband and family.
Doris is survived by her daughter Nancy E. Baker and her husband Thomas of Langhorne along with her granddaughter Kyle Marie Baker and her husband Mathew Plale.
Services and interment for Doris will be held privately by the family.

Kenneth T. McCauley of Warminster died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health in Abington. He was 94.
Kenneth was the beloved husband for 66 years of the late Geraldine McGovern McCauley.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Bowers McCauley.
Kenneth was a former resident of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia before moving to Ann’s Choice in Warminster. He was an Engineering Technician with the U.S. Department of Defense for almost 30 years before retiring in 1986. Kenneth was a proud veteran of the US Army serving during World War II, in the European Theater, where he was the recipient of a bronze star medal. Upon his discharge from the active duty, he attended every annual reunion with his comrades in arms from the 243rd field artillery battalion since 1946. Among his comrades and friends in the 243rd he was known as the “godfather”. He also remained in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1981, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Kenneth was a member of the ROMEO’s group at Ann’s Choice and enjoyed in his leisure listening to big band music from the war years. His true joy was the quality times he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him.
Kenneth is survived by his two sons, Kenneth T. McCauley Jr and his wife Patricia and Dennis McCauley and his wife Sheilagh, all of Doylestown. He is also survived by his sister, Alberta DeMasi of Philadelphia, his 5 cherished grandchildren Kevin, Ryan, Daniel, Patrick and Maureen and his 6 great grandchildren; Ian, Michael, Cameron, Cole, Fletcher and Charley, and his friend; Lillian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Wednesday April 27th from 6:00-8:00pm and on Thursday, April 28th from 9:30am until his Funeral Service 10:30am in the Joseph A. Gertrude Friedman of Royersford, PA died peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Royersford, PA. She was 98.
She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert B. Friedman.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Israel and Rebecca Stein Smoger and sister of the late Sunny Kogan, Cy Smoger and Mickey Ohlbaum.
Mrs. Friedman was a resident of Philadelphia for many years before moving to Parkhouse Providence Point nine years ago. She will be missed and always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Arleen LoRusso and her husband, Larry, of Lansdale, PA and Janice Friedman and her wife, Lonnie, of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her grandson, Larry LoRusso Jr. and his wife, Debbie Kay, of Quakertown, PA and her four great grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, John and Matthew LoRusso.

Herbert Boess, age 79, of Holland died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his residence. He suffered a seven year long debilitating disease of Alzheimer & Parkinson. He took his fate with courage & dignity, never complaining for a moment. As in life, so in death, he was an inspiration to us all.
Herb & Helene, his wife, celebrated a 54 year long marriage, leaving the family with many cherished memories.
Born in Hunsdorf, Slovakia, Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Julius & Elizabeth Reptschek Boess, & his two brothers, Erhardt & Julius Boess. Herb is survived by his wife Helene, his daughter Heidi, his 2 grandsons Austen & Alexander & his two sisters-in-law, Marian Boess Winter, & Heddy Boess & their families.
Along with his parents & brothers, Herbert left his birthplace, Slovakia, during World War II. The family fled to Austria & Germany where he spent his youth. At the age of 17, he reached America along with his parents joining his aunts & brothers who had preceded him for several years.
He worked as a draftsman at Stokes in Phila. & later graduated Spring Garden College, Magna Cum Laude, with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Herb immediately accepted a position upon graduation with United Engineers in Philadelphia which eventually became Raytheon where he remained until his retirement.
He was a tennis & ski enthusiast & a long time member of Mill Creek Tennis Club. Herb played the organ in Germany in church, was an accomplished pianist & enjoyed opera & classical music. He loved watching the Flyers & above all followed his grandson Austen’s sporting events, especially soccer.
A special thank you for his care goes to Dr. Lisgar & Dr. Mazlin who helped us throughout this difficult time. The nurses at Arcadia & Compassionate Care were invaluable to us.

Thomas F. Lambert of Richboro passed away tragically on Thursday April 21, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne as a result of injuries sustained from an accident. He was 88.
Thomas was the beloved husband of 62 years to Jeanne F. Graham Lambert.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert and Florence Kennedy Lambert, father of the late Thomas Andrew Lambert and brother of the late Albert and Richard Lambert.
Thomas was a former resident of Broomall before moving to Richboro in 2000. He was a graduate of Girard College and served our country in the US Navy. Thomas attended Indiana University and completed his graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He had a distinguished career in Sales and Consulting at Pennsalt and the American Institute for Research before working as a Systems Analyst for the School District of Philadelphia until his retirement in 1993. In his leisure, Thomas was an avid reader and had a passion for military history. He was an excellent cook and truly enjoyed sharing his culinary creations for extended family gatherings. Thomas never missed an opportunity to be present at any of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities especially their sporting events, concerts and plays. He will be truly missed by his family and by all who came to know him.
In addition to his beloved wife Jeanne, Thomas is survived by his children, Charles J. Lambert and his wife Martha of Doylestown, Timothy J. Lambert and his wife Geralyn of Downingtown and Elizabeth L. Tolkach and her husband Stephen of Newtown. He is also survived by his 10 cherished grandchildren, Leighann, Andrew, Victoria, Charles, Alaina, Anastasia, Timothy, Alexandra, Jennifer and Margaret.

Agnes Rafferty Baker of Holland died peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown. She was 93.
Agnes was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Joseph Gerald John Baker Sr.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Owens Rafferty.
Agnes was raised and attended school in Our Lady of Mercy Parish. She continued her Catholic education at John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls and was a proud member of the class of 1941. She married at Holy Child Church, and in time she along with her husband raised their family in St. Athanasius and Nativity of Our Lord parishes. She valued her Catholic education, and made sure that her Children were also educated in the same fashion. Agnes was the consummate wife and mother and she loved to see her family blossom with the arrival of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agnes will be greatly missed, but forever loved by everyone whose heart she has touched.
Agnes is survived by her 6 loving children; Joseph J. Baker Jr. and his wife Catherine of North Wales, Mary M. Baker of Newtown, Kathleen R. Klarich and her husband Timothy of Philadelphia, Thomas B. Baker and his wife Paula of Jamison, John W. Baker of Holly Springs, NC, and Patricia B. Tento and her husband Anthony of Harleysville. She is also survived by her brother Bernard Rafferty and his wife Joan, and was the devoted MomMom to 14 grandchildren Joe, Stephen (Jill), Kevin (Kathryn), Mary Kate, Maureen, Timmy (Annie), Brian, Colin, Brigid, Tommy, Chris, Danny, Caitlin, Brenna, and two great grandchildren Molly and Connor.

Linda C. Haviland of Levittown passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her home with her loving husband, Bob, of 44 years and family by her side. She was 69.
Born in Philadelphia, Linda was the daughter of the late Lawrence Sr. and Emma Restau Smith.
In addition to her husband, Linda will be sorely missed by her two children, Lisa and Rob and his wife, Marcie; her brother, Larry Smith, and his wife, Dottie; and her adoring grandchildren Jacob, Peter, Mary, and Eve.

Michael B. Burkhard of Pineville died suddenly on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was 21.
Michael was the beloved son of Douglas J. and Susan A. Elwell Burkhard.
Michael was a member of the 2013 graduating classes of Central Bucks High School East and the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. Since graduation, Michael was also enrolled and completed classes at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Michael had a strong passion for the culinary arts and has worked for numerous restaurants in the region. He enjoyed creating dishes for family and friends at his residence even after working long days in the Restaurant. His passion was so great for cooking that he never denied his sister and her friends a creative and exquisite dish.
In his leisure, he enjoyed dirt bike riding with friends and Trout fishing with his father. Michael will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure to know and love him and he will always be remembered for his three favorite ingredients; Hot Sauce, Onions, and especially Garlic.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his adoring sister, Katie and his loving grandmothers: Jean Burkhard and Janice Elwell. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carlson Thomas Griffin, of Langhorne, PA died on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at his home. He was 86.
He was the husband of the late Grace Phillips Griffin.
Born in New York, he was the son of the late Albert Thomas. and Mammie Hedgpith Griffin and brother and brother in law of the late Nell and Charles Warrell.
He was preceded in death by his first son Carlson Timothy Griffin and his first wife Mary Cassidy Griffin. He is survived by Timothy’s second wife Debra Jenkins Griffin, his son Ronald Steve Griffin and his wife Alice of Langhorne, his two daughters Cynthia Marie Davis and her husband Scott of Winfield, PA, and Brenda Griffin of Rocky Mount, NC. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His services and interment will be held privately by the family.
