Immaculata R. Pomeroy (Cardone )

May 23rd, 2016

Immaculata R. Pomeroy of Warminster died peacefully after a short illness surrounded by her loving husband and children Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 65.

Immaculata was the beloved wife of 43 years to Dennis M. Pomeroy Sr.

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Lorenza DePalma Cardone.

Immaculata worked 46 years for Sears. She greatly enjoyed putting her artistic mind to work in all she did, but what she valued more than anything were the times she spent with her family(especially her grandchildren) creating cherished memorable moments. Immaculata will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure to know and love her and to those who have had the opportunity to call her Nonni, Mom, and Wife.

In addition to her husband Dennis, Immaculata is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis M. Pomeroy Jr. and Brooke of Warminster and Christopher F. Pomeroy and Rebecca of Hatfield. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Emma, Ava, Nicholas, and Joshua, her five siblings Mickey Aiken, Frank Cardone, Maria Davis, Angela Schmidt, Donata DeAngelo, and the late Luigi Cardone along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.

Alfonse “Al” Krygier Jr.

May 22nd, 2016

Alfonse “Al” L. Krygier Jr., 72, of Doylestown (previously of Churchville), best friend and beloved husband of Eileen Dreher Krygier for 49 years, idolized father of Nanette Reed (husband Kenneth) and Erika Warner of Perkasie, was called to heaven on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the University of Pennsylvania hospital, surrounded by his adoring family. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. Alfonse L. Sr. and Genevieve Ziblinski Krygier and brother of Jean Rettig and the late Alice Denny. He is also survived and most notably known as the coolest DziaDzi (grandpop) to three grandchildren: Austin Reed, Rachel Reed and Drake Warner.

If you didn’t know Al, then you missed out on getting the best directions to anywhere you needed to go, a man who REALLY knew how to throw a party, views of landscaping and gardens that should have won awards, mouthwatering roasted corn on the 4th of July, Asplundh’s finest purchasing agent in the 70’s, paramount advice on how to fix anything and everything, the classiest truck driver for 35 years at Better Materials/Hanson Trucking, newscaster Jim Gardner’s doopelganger, great nights of dancing to Doo Whop, Oktoberfests with awesome childhood Somerton buddies, and the most beautiful blue eyes and smile you’ve ever seen.

Arthur C. Martin

May 20th, 2016

Arthur C. Martin, of New Hope, PA died peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016, after a short battle with lung Cancer. He was 76 years old.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Macready Martin and loving partner of JoAnn Alberts.

Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Eleanor Day Martin.

Arthur is survived by his children Ian C. Martin and his wife Adrienne, and Linda D. Martin Miller, 3 dear grandchildren, Colin Miller, Logan Miller and Gavin Martin, his sister Abbie Jane Hattauer, and 2 nieces and a nephew.

Arthur is also survived by his dear extended family, Damon Alberts, his wife Pati and daughter Julia, Alyssa Walloff, her husband George and their children Andrew and Matthew.

Arthur was a resident of New Hope for the past 7 years having formerly lived in Lawrenceville, NJ, for 35 years. Arthur began a successful career working at MetLife at the age of 18 and retired 41 years later as a Senior Executive. He was an avid golfer who was looking forward to being with his golfing buddies and reliving his HOLE-IN-ONE at Princeton Country Club. He very much enjoyed watching sports and traveling with family and friends. Arthur will be remembered for his warm smile, love of music, and his commitment to his family and friends.  He was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton, NJ.

James P. Martin

James P. Martin of Holland, PA died peacefully following a courageous battle with leukemia at his residence on Friday, May 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was 56.

He was the beloved husband of Lisa R. Striano Martin for 33 years and the amazing Dad of Brian J. Martin of Philadelphia, PA, John T. Martin and Andrew S. Martin, both of Holland, PA.

Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Patricia Corey Martin.

Before his retirement, he was employed as an engineer for 25 years at Lockheed Martin Corp. He was a dedicated family man who will be deeply missed as a devoted husband and loving father.

In addition to his wife, Lisa, and three sons, he is survived by his brother, Robert Martin and his sister, Diane Montalbano and her husband, George.

Diane Ruth Partridge

May 20th, 2016

Diane Ruth Partridge of Washington Crossing passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 20, 2016.  She was 34. 

Diane is survived by her beloved fiancé and love of her life, Michael Tricarico. 

Born in Langhorne, she was the loving daughter of Julian Partridge and Jean Partridge. 

To capture Diane in a few paragraphs would be impossible. She had a magnetic personality and sense of humor. Diane lit up the room and had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel like they were the single most important person in the world. If you met her for the first time she wanted to know every single thing about and you would be your friend for life soon after that. 

She was a talented artist, having painted mostly modern works, and also was an avid photographer. Diane found peace through her artwork and by using varying media, she hoped to capture the small things that we all see but don’t necessarily take notice of each day. She was also talented in floral arranging and playing the piano. 

The positive qualities Diane possessed are countless. Her perseverance and strength were limitless and she was so very dearly loved by everyone who surrounded her. She will be missed.

In addition to her fiancé and parents, Diane is survived by her sister, Helen Partridge, her brother, Mark Partridge and his wife, Caitlin Morray; her nephews, Alastair and Ewan Partridge; her aunt and uncle, Susan and Alastair Greatbanks; and her cousins, Catherine Greatbanks, Nicola Wood and her husband, Kevin, and Christopher Greatbanks.

Karol “Karl” M. Talafous

Karol “Karl” M. Talafous of Doylestown passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Doylestown Hospital. 

Karl was the beloved husband of Sheila M. Talafous.  In addition to his wife, Karl is survived by his children, Laura and Amy Talafous and his grandson Dominic Talafous.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph J. Talafous, Esq. and his sister, Ann Zapple. 

Born in Ventnor, NJ, he was a son of the late Karol and Anna Sulick Talafous. 

Karl earned his Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Kean College.  He taught for 30 years at his alma mater Lincoln High School in Jersey City, NJ.  Karl was extremely proud of his Slovak Heritage and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol as well as a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Doylestown.

To say that Karl was multi-faceted would be an understatement.  He loved everything from golf to reading to Jeopardy and Crossword puzzles.  His sense of humor and generous nature was endearing to all who knew him. He loved the New York Giants, travelling, coin collecting and watching the History, Travel and Weather channels.  He was also a talented vocalist and was a very proud member of the Bucks County Choral Society. 

Most importantly, however, Karl was a family man.  He treasured every moment spent with his family, most especially time spent with his grandson, Dominic.  Karl’s charm, generosity and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him, but surely never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.  His interment will be private.

Mary Jayne Comey

Mary Jayne Comey, of Fernandina Beach, FL died on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.  She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late William M. Bristol, III.

Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Dennis F. and Edna Dettra Comey.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Eileen C. Hee and her husband Vincent J., her brother Lawrence Comey, and her 3 loving grandchildren; Catherine, Elizabeth and Stephen Hee.

Mary Jayne’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, June 2 from 10:30 AM until her Memorial Mass 11:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church 654 Hatboro Rd, Richboro, PA 18954. 

Her interment was held privately.

Nicholas A. Dion

May 18th, 2016

Nicholas A. Dion, age 14, of Sellersville, died peacefully after courageously fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.

Nick was the beloved son of Denise Dion of Sellersville and Brian Dion of Bensalem.

He was born on August 6, 2001. Nick graduated from Pennridge North Middle School in 2015 and was a member of the freshman class at Pennridge High School. He had a passion for football. Nick loved watching football, especially the Eagles and the Oregon Ducks. He had an amazing experience this year when the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted him and his family the opportunity to attend the Super Bowl and spend time in California. Nick also loved playing football, starting at age 5 with the Pennridge Green Jackets and playing till the age of 13. He also played football and ran track for his middle school. As an athlete, Nick also participated in karate, baseball and wrestling. In the nineteen months after Nick’s diagnosis, he set the pace for everyone else with his appreciation for fun, positive attitude and courage.

In addition to his parents, Nick is survived by his sisters Brianna and Kirsten of Sellersville and his maternal grandmother Florence Heckler and his paternal grandparents Howard and Rebecca Dion, all of Bensalem, PA. He is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Lisa and Robert Gaffney of Chalfont, and Melanie and Thomas Elliott of Cinnaminson, NJ, as well as his cousins, Connor, Aidan and Olivia. He is also survived by his corgi Rocky. Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Gerald Heckler.

Nick’s family will receive condolences on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 9:00 AM until his funeral service 12:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

Catherine Bartkovsky, of Phillipsburg, NJ died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Lopatcong Center Nursing Home. She was 87.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Bartkovsky Sr. and mother of the late Thomas Bartkovsky Jr.

Born in Harrisburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Theresa Cicala.       

She is survived by her daughter Marian Gilbert and her husband Thomas of Holland, her 2 sisters Rita Cicala of Pittston, PA and Lucy Sowa of Pittston, PA.  She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Rachel (Kenneth) Koretsky, Nicole Gilbert, Christina (Jim) Irey, Brandon Castaldo, Jennifer Gilbert and Robert Gilbert and her one great-grandson Kenny Koretsky II. 

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 12:30 PM until her Memorial Service 1:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will be held privately at a later date.
